First and foremost, Gollin is just a university professor, nothing more and nothing less. He would like to be much more, but his boss is a department chair and his wife is a real university administrator at the same univerity he works at. So we all know who got George his job as a university professor in the first place. This means, his wife is smarter than he is and so is his department chair, who both make more money than he does. Gollin's wife is so embarassed of him she will not even use his last name. She uses her maiden name Loots. His daughter even uses her mother's maiden name. Now that's either strange or they are not married.

Now the next question of Gollin's imagined sucess is how the hell did he get appointed as a CHEA Commissioner. Well, lets see. John Bear was probably one of his letters of referrence. What do you think, perhaps his wife who is a real university administrator and uses another last name was another?

The next question is how did Otho Allen Ezell, Jr. come to know George Gollin. That one is easy, Otho Allen Ezell, Jr. was pulled away from his job at the bank by John Bear to co-author their book on degree mills. So John introduced the John Bear want-to-be Gollin to his buddy Otho Allen Ezell, Jr.. The same applies to how Gollin came to know Alan Contreras of ODA fame.

These guys remind me of the kids who always cut up and raised hell in class (Bart Simpson Types).  They will do and say anything to get attention and financial benefit (your money).  Bear was for this, and then he was for that, and now, he's mostly for John Bear's new-old version of history.  Which means--he's using selective memory to tell old stories in more acceptable ways. Now as for Gollin, a second rate Bear wannabe.  They see how Bear has gotten noticed and finally found a way to make some bucks from bad advice (Herriot Watt) and they seek to follow his trail into DL $$$$$$$.  Why in God's name anyone would waste their time listening to these clowns is beyond me.  There are real school guides out there and real college presidents and professors who know and can give good advice on the degree programs that are right for the individual.  If you listen to Bear / Douglas / Gollin.....etc. all you get is what is best for their bank accounts.  That's how you got the (Summit & Kennedy Western are good schools) and now (Excelsior & TESC / Charter Oak) are good schools, really the flavor of the times, not really good.  So people have to ask themselves this question. Do you want advice that is good for you or for their bank accounts?  Do you want to listen to people who measure all their advice according to how much TV time they get or if you will actually be able to get the degree and have career success?

You can do better with a degree from Kennedy Western than to do a few classes from UOP, and then, like about 95% of the people who try UOP, drop out.  Do they tell you that almost everyone who tries UOP or Heriot Watt will not finish the degrees? no they don't.  

Here is the way it is. They are in this to help themselves to money,  TV time, or both, nothing more.  So help yourselves and do what is best for you, not them. Getting their pictures in the papers isn't our responsibility, nor is a transfer of our money to their wallets to our benefit. Let them sell their porn and poor advice to the losers who need leaders to follow, we don't need that. We can think for ourselves, and do.

Bear created Gollin. When the SRU thing blows up in Gollin's face I wonder how many milliseconds will pass before Bear starts backing away? Likely justifications: "Times change." "I was compelled to do it." "Never place friendship above profit." (Oops, last one was Ferengi Rule of Acquisition 21.)

But why wait until then? Haven't seen any of that "Carpmaster" crap lately. Has Bear already cut the cord?

What is his background in distance education? I may be missing something, but many people he attacks seem to have much more experience and knowledge in this area. Does he actually teach distance courses or have experience in creating, programming,. developing or delivering approved distance courses? If so, I'd like to take a look at them to better understand his apparent expertise in this field.

Dear Ms. Loots:

We are writing to follow up on an investigation conducted by Mr. Mark G. Peterson from the Chicago District Office and Drs. Amey L. Adams and Michele C. McGuinness from the Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) representing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA, Agency) at your facility between January 29 and 31, 2003. This inspection was initiated in response to a letter dated October 28, 2002 and signed by investigators Dr. Mathew B. Wheeler and Dr. Sharon M. Donovan. That letter informed the Agency that they had rendered a pig from a study of double transgenic [ redacted ] crossbred pigs. You are the sponsor and monitor of this study.

This study is one of several you are sponsoring that involves transgenic pigs. Dr. Mathew Wheeler, as the Principal Investigator, requested investigative new animal drug exemptions (INADs) from FDA for the conduct of these studies. The studies are: 1) Transgenic pigs that contain [ redacted ] ; 2) Transgenic pigs that contain the [ redacted ] ; and 3) Double transgenic pigs that contain [ redacted ] . These double transgenic pigs were obtained by cross breeding of [ redacted ] transgenic pigs.

FDA regulations for the conduct of studies under INAD are set forth at 21 CFR § 511.1. This rule includes the requirement that study animals may not be used for food without prior FDA authorization. To date, FDA has not permitted genetically engineered animals to be placed into the human food supply. Nevertheless, you released at least 386 pigs from INADs [ redacted ] for sale for slaughter as human food. FDA has only allowed animals from genetic engineering investigations to be rendered for incorporation into animal feed in limited circumstances. These limited circumstances do not include permission to render animals from [ redacted ].

Another requirement of 21 CFR § 511.1 is that the sponsor provide current monitoring of studies. [21 CFR 511.1(b)(8)(ii)]. During the inspection, FDA found no evidence that you provided for monitoring of the investigation. You had no documentation that the University has a formal monitoring program or that the studies conducted by Drs. Matthew B. Wheeler and Sharon M. Donovan were monitored.

This letter serves to remind you that FDA expects documentation of plans regarding the disposition of all investigational animals and that any study that must be under INAD must meet requirements for current sponsor monitoring. It is imperative that all safety regulations be followed scrupulously to help assure the highest level of confidence possible in the conduct of this type of research.
