Tuesday, January 31, 2006 ( 9:28 PM ) ... g-e-n-i-u-s Batia Snir (9:29:28 PM): ask me about the minnesota state muffin CatGirlCool (9:29:45 PM): uhmmmmmm. blueberry? Batia Snir (9:29:50 PM): yea! CatGirlCool (9:29:55 PM): HOLY FUCK?! YEAH? Batia Snir (9:30:04 PM): yea man clg # ( 6:43 PM ) ... there's nothing like emptying a cartridge at the sun today i ate an unsexy food. once i made this food, and it really hurt me. then it was ill-recieved. worse than when i burned myself on the oven rack. i was definitely sad afterwards. (very revealing, next time i will be more cryptic). i'm listening to dresden dolls singing with regina spektor and it is basically the best. let's face it: zine progress can't continue until i haul ass to some place that sells glue sticks. should've chosen a better size that would've been easier to circulate. ima robot is also pretty good. is anyone else entertained by the prospect of Thor Promise rings? I think Thor would definitely scare lots of girls into saving themselves. Today I saw a certain administrator (HINT: she and a FAMOUS general have something very in common) drinking beer on the first floor!!!!!!! how's that for unrest in the community? who's the uni gossip queen now? uh huh, that's right. cordelia p.s. it only *looked* like beer. # Sunday, January 29, 2006 ( 1:27 PM ) ... kind of evil make me want to grab my submachine WAIT. in my lame previous entry i forgot to say that: before going to PJ's I checked my email in my spinny chair with my cat on my lap. Whoops, then it was 8pm, time to go! So I rolled out of my room, but my cat wouldn't get off my lap, so I rolled around the upstairs, dropping stuff and then i brushed my teeth. it was a fun adventure. now i am working on my top secret 106 project! clg # ( 12:03 PM ) ... hau ez gustatzen zait. last night i watched Frida with mmh, pj and kjs (b also stopped by). It was really pretty. I came home an hour early, fell into bed adn read about Glooskap and the Mighty Wasis. Not a very good myth. Earlier I had been to Glen Ellyn, a surprisingly quaint suburb. My interview went well, I think, minus me not knowing about how the German government works. Whoops. I met a fifteen year old max from urbana. That was cool. Everyone was nice. I celebrated a good interview by spilling hot chocolate on my tan interview pants. Woo woo. Actually, it was from starbucks and was probably the worst hot chocolate ever. Except maybe for that one time. today's Qwantz reminds me of batyar. the end! # Friday, January 27, 2006 ( 8:22 PM ) ... a busted safety catch My concept of time is messed up. I think this has something to do with watching the end of the Miss America pageant/listening to Buffy Saint-Marie. Yesterday I talked to mayw and it was very nice. At dinner I told my parents how I felt about this interrupting person and how I felt powerless and angry. My dad suggested that I use body language to shut her up. He even pantomimed to show me what he meant, think two hand push used to open doors. Today the sky was prettier than it's been in a long time, with long sweeping flat clouds. clg # Wednesday, January 25, 2006 ( 7:39 PM ) ... i'm sorry, i don't pray that way here is a cryptic list i found written on the back of a post-it note on my desk: Cheezits Ruffles Ketchup packets Undies ? UhOh ... ? ------------- glue stick blank tapes I wrote it yesterday. If you can tell me what it all means than you must be someone special (and i am curious to see what you think). Writing glue stick sent an unexpected rush of good will through my icy heart, I could elaborate, but basically: it sparked thoughts of le meanzine (untouched for a few days) and the sorry glue sticks (more like glue concrete pillars) that sleep in the drawers of our house. Elvis:Lost Twin::Me:David Boyle Sara said several things about how I looked like a prison inmate. But I emerged unscathed, dancing the cotton eyed joe with Tess and sort of Devin definitely helped. I would venture to say that the consumer ed test was whacker than crack. (at least crack makes crack smokers feel good for a little bit, not that anyone should do it). It also confirmed society's suspicions that I am unfit to be unleashed on the economic market. Case in Point: I always chose the option that included raising school taxes, thinking "gee, that'd be nice." Also, I do not know about USDA meat, insurance, or why people wear baggy pants. Body Image? Peer Pressure? This test has proved to me that I have two options for next year: I should forget the college dream and: a. Go straight into the workforce, hopefully a video store or Kraft. b. I should live on a commune where the economy and minute differences between insurance types are not important. I'm sure any commune would take me, based soley on (1) my ability to grow eggplants, (2) my cool basque knowledge and (3) my willingless to write haikus/look at the sky all day. this inner list is getting sort of long, perhaps the subject of my next entry?! (Or a new meanzine?!?!?!!) ordeliacay p.s. this morning i caught myself thinking about a cinderella story on my drive to school. p.p.s. the other day i saw a hawk in the loomis lot. # Sunday, January 22, 2006 ( 10:20 PM ) ... it ain't natural if it looks lah-ke cray-p. except for the manu chao and the calculus, i have definitely slipped into the country cordelia. she has snappy comebacks, also comma splices. oh btw, i almost OD'd on hot chocolate. not really. ordeliacay # ( 2:32 PM ) ... bouffants=torture number one song: "mienten mi amor" by betagarri. number one drink: hot chocolate number one cat: alice number one annoyance: everyone putting up away messages... for DAYS. number one thing that won't let me relax: january 28th and my impending interview. clg # Friday, January 20, 2006 ( 8:39 PM ) ... LATE BREAKING NEWS: p.s. when i said "painful oral" i meant painful oral surgery, not illicit sexual acts. # Tuesday, January 17, 2006 ( 10:26 PM ) ... why you gotta say it if you know it's wrong? regina spektor + the strokes = exxxcellent. let's break the week down: wednesday-- interview/elephant ear eating, grinnell application sweetness thursday-- habitat meeting friday-- early out, howiefest, loomfest (w. mom). tom gets painful oral saturday-- winter the formal (wtf) w. mokarco, mojean and modelia the rest of tonight-- sleeping. Adios! clg # Monday, January 16, 2006 ( 10:05 PM ) ... senior trip is over and i didnt sleep enough. highlights later. # Thursday, January 12, 2006 ( 5:22 PM ) ... bm--no it isn't, just a bit of dependency! since completing mean zine #2, i have been very excited about mean zine #3. also, i sort of wonder if i should start doing them on bigger paper. hmm. today was my first day of creative writing. now, because i am too zonked to tell you about the really really awesome thing* that happened today, i leave you with davy: CatGirlCool (5:32:43 PM): what's the english assignment? daVy1189 (5:32:48 PM): 4-5 daVy1189 (5:32:51 PM): wow you imed me daVy1189 (5:32:56 PM): you're welcome CatGirlCool (5:33:01 PM): tahnks. daVy1189 (5:33:04 PM): awesome daVy1189 (5:33:07 PM): thank YOU CatGirlCool (5:33:07 PM): it's only because i'm ignoring tom. daVy1189 (5:33:14 PM): oh i'll take it anyway clg *note to self: there was none. # ( 12:04 AM ) ... pick up ze pieces i started off the night with death cab for cutie. that transitioned into FKKKK i need the ramones! mean zine #2 is out. mean zine #3 is pretty awesome, but only just begun. the theme is french. today i had a ferocious nosebleed. my interview went well, and i have stories from the parent meeting, but they will have to wait! clg # Monday, January 09, 2006 ( 8:37 PM ) ... the blackest of moons "i will follow you into the dark" by deathcab for cutie is at the top of my list of most beautiful songs right now. is this is because it manages to capture my entire romantic philosophy in one or two lines? no, just give it a lesson. i meant listen. in other news, i am waiting, sort of anxiously, for any response from cb. beginning to think that perhaps i should've applied to rotary also. oh well, we'll see. today i learned what a "murder of crows" is. agur, cordelia. # Sunday, January 08, 2006 ( 8:06 PM ) ... meant to cave from the start so a while ago i realized that staring at calculus was futile, so i might as well clean my room. not shove stuff under my bed, but actually clean my room. i've found the german paper cutting project that i did this summer (+), a billion postcards (/) and a half-consumed zone bar (double -). so now my room is even worse. also, i can't find a cd with all good songs. good news: i finished the english book. # ( 11:48 AM ) ... an arranged marriage is not so good. so yesterday i got home from theater fest, walked around like a zombie. then my parents had some people over for pizza, so i went to sleep. it's not clear to me if i actually slept or just zoned out. two hours later i got up to eat pizza and be asked about theater fest, college dribble and look like a zombie some more. then i watched snl/law and order. i had the weirdest dreams ever. theater fest was pretty good. unsurprisingly, the nazi was there again, totally recognized us and tried to have a reign of terror. luckily, we outsmarted him. the plays that i saw both involved abusive mothers. a chorus line had a really great last scene. our chaperones were pretty indecisive which was frustrating, but not that bad. now i'm listening to ben folds five and thinking about doing some work. clg # Saturday, January 07, 2006 ( 11:27 PM ) ... take that and rewind it back i love when lucy sings that song. theater fest is over. why am i blogging? i'm so tard! clg # Wednesday, January 04, 2006 ( 7:32 PM ) ... i'm not a very good aubfw, i mean singer*, but i really like to sing little ditties in german to myself on walks. i'm really excited for theater fest. REALLY. i know this is hard to believe, since i've taken to calling it "dorkfest" but i mean, HELLO. and by "HELLO" i mean, i fully acknowledge how weird some of these theatre people are, and that i'll probably end up feeling overwhelmed/frowny, but it is sort of cool that they've found something they're really into. this may seem completely hypocritical, but hypocrisy is completely allowed in my personal blog. while i may be into theater, i do not prance around singing trendy musicals (very loudly) while wearing long scarves, and falling in love with gay men (as far as i know). that said, i do wear long scarves, occasionally skip during fitness, and serenade shruti with german pop ballads, so maybe i'm full of shit. today ben gave a presentation on media consolidation. it made me want to be a renegade television reporter, a great day dream to have. <3 cordelia p.s. yesterday i finished memoirs of a geisha and today i finished potential by Ariel Schrag. *i don't look at the keyboard when I type, so sometimes my hands get offset a little bit and i just type gibberish. # Tuesday, January 03, 2006 ( 8:52 PM ) ... all i can think about is water i seem to have this enormous conflict brewing inside of me that is only silenced when: reading german magazines playing guitar day dreaming i hope it goes away soon, because feeling like this, especially when i can't exactly say why, isn't very fun. fortunately, i've been day dreaming so much that my state (deep discontent? misplaced malaise?) is quite tolerable. {i remember the states and the names of the cities, but i don't remember you.} clg # Monday, January 02, 2006 ( 1:09 PM ) ... listen honey, there is nothing you could do to offend me new year's eve was good, met a long neighbor. does that even make sense?! so now it's sixty degrees and i'm getting that one spring feeling except hello-- it's january second. so if i ever get dressed today, i'll probably wear a skirt. last night i watched cheerleader ninjas with kari and maureen. worst movie ever! now i'm trying to convince the boy i like to go for a walk with me, but that will probably not turn out. which is too bad, especially for him. today i got spam that said "you've always wanted to use your penis as a billiards cue." i love the smell of warm illinois. clg # |
