Typical Gollin.  You say "Too bad it rained today."  He says, "You appear to be suggesting that you can control the weather.  That is just silly!"  He knows damn well that is not the point, but he can't or won't respond to the point.  Instead he makes up something ridiculous and responds to that instead.

Gollum doesn't seem to understand that doctors and engineers are already licensed and regulated and taxed and fucked with by the government.  Or else he does understand that but figures nobody else does, so he lies about it.
