So says a reliable source close to the proceedings. Given the vile and unwarranted assaults against him, it seems uncommonly gracious of O'Block to dismiss his case. I wouldn't expect other victims of the notorious Janus of DL and his klones to be quite so understanding.

Is it written somewhere that "leaving out the bad parts" isn't pretty much exactly the same thing as lying? Too bad Klempner doesn't have access to a professional ethicist. Big GrinRolleyes

As we know, no good deed goes unpunished. O'Block graciously agreed to dismiss his defamation case again Bear in return for Bear agreeing to remove all his defamatory statements about O'Block.

So now when Bear wants to make a defamatory statement about O'Block, or when he wants to pimp somebody else who is making such statements, he just gets Goose to do it for him. You know Goose didn't find this on his own. But since PBS has even less credibility than DD, I doubt anyone with a brain will be taking any of it seriously.

Quote:FRONTLINE also examines what it takes to become credentialed in forensics by the American College of Forensics Examiners International (ACFEI). “It was like an open-book exam basically, and I passed,” says Leah Bartos, a journalism graduate student at UC Berkeley, who demonstrates that for $660 and a few hours taking an open-book exam online, she became certified as a forensic consultant by ACFEI. Bergman’s interview with former CEO John Bridges indicates that 99 percent of those who apply online will become certified by the organization. “There can be no meaningful exam that has a 99 percent pass rate,” admits forensic guru and ACFEI spokesman Cyril Wecht, whose signature appears on ACFEI certificates.

You probably are right about that. Aside from Goose's obvious lack of motivation of late, there are some rather clear signs of Klempner's connection.

"FRONTLINE correspondent Lowell Bergman" is a journalism professor at UC Berkeley. In case his connection to Berkeley and PBS wasn't enough proof he is a socialist dirtbag, he studied under the "Father of the New Left" Herbert Marcuse. His granny was a union goon, just like Klempner's.

"Leah Bartos, a journalism graduate student at UC Berkeley" is in fact a holder of a Masters of Journalism degree from that same program.

Who else do we know who holds a Masters of Journalism from Berkeley? Why, Klempner himself, of course.

Who do you think was feeding Bergman and Bartos the dirt on O'Block, probably at the same time he was promising to remove his slanderous comments from the internet? There's a reason he's called The Janus of Millism. What are the odds of O'Block and his small, private business getting a fair shake from this incestuous sewer of leftist rabble?

Here are a couple of the highlights from the Frontline hatchet job:

Quote:Then, in 2002, the story broke about the cat. O’Block remains vexed by what he calls a “stunt” orchestrated by a member of a competing professional organization.

“First of all, ACFEI did not certify a cat…[It] certified a human being who used fraudulent credentials and called himself Dr. Katz,” O’Block wrote in an email.

Quote:O’Block vehemently denies that ACFEI is a diploma mill, saying the group has thousands of satisfied members. He has filed five lawsuits in the last year against individuals — mostly bloggers — who have posted statements O’Block claims are defamatory about his organizations. One is pending. The others have been dismissed by courts or at the parties’ request after bloggers agreed to take down posts.

Quote:Wecht said he doubted that having the certificate on my resume would be enough to persuade a court to allow me to give expert testimony. Any decent lawyer, he said, could easily cast doubt upon my qualifications.

“A kid right out of law school would say, ‘Ma’am, just exactly what is your training?’” Wecht said. “The point I’m making, you see, is that that piece of paper doesn’t mean that much.”

So if a piece of paper doesn't mean that much, what's the big deal? If any lawyer easily can expose a fake "expert" with no training or experience, what is the point?

Quote:In its 2009 report, the National Academy of Sciences called for several measures to address systemic flaws involving forensic examiners and expert testimony.

Certification should be mandatory for forensics professionals and should be overseen by a centralized credentialing agency, the report said.

A "centralized credentialing agency"????? Oh, you mean like the government? And isn't that really what's it's all about? The statists want Big Brother's iron hand to certify everything you do, big and small.

Kind of funny to see all these Berkeley-educated dopes getting their panties in a twist because somebody uses the term "college." They seem to consider it highly suspect that O'Block calls his organization the "American College of Forensic Examiners Institute."

Has anyone ever introduced them to the concept that words can have different meanings depending on the context?

Or is it that they know perfectly well that O'Block means "an organized body of persons engaged in a common pursuit or having common interests or duties" and not "an independent institution of higher learning offering a course of general studies leading to a bachelor's degree," but they figure the average fool watching PBS probably doesn't?

Just one more reason why PBS sucks.
