I spend a lot of time in Oregon. My brother and my sister both live there. Its probibly the most beautiful state in the US. But it sures has some stupid laws. This gas pumping ban is just plane stupid. It serves absolutely no purpose, except maybe to provide a few minimum wage jobs to people (maybe the graduates of unaccredited colleges that Alan Contreras put out of work).

I buy gas in New Jersey whenever possible (and since I currently live there it means almost all the time) as it is less expensive than the surrounding states (NY, PA, DE). At first it took a little while to get used to using full service since I had most recently lived in the self-service states of Florida and Nevada. The lower gas price would seem counterintuitive but it is mostly due to the location of refineries in New Jersey and slightly lower gas taxes

Gay Al is proud to enforce Oregon law. You can't pump your own, but you sure can pump your buddy's. If anybody is going to get a nozzle up their tailpipe he wants to be sure it's him.
