Hard to believe, but this is yet another thread about yet another glaring, obvious error by the self-appointed accreditation "expert" and CHEA buffoon George Gollin (George D. Gollin, George Dana Gollin).
The "expert" apparently has no clue about the British system of accreditation. In particular, he is utterly oblivious to the Accreditation Service for International Colleges (ASIC), an accreditation body recognised by the UK government.
That doesn't stop The Sphincter from making his grand public character assassinations at DD, though.
ASIC is the very same UK accreditation body that issued the well-publicized accreditation of Warnborough College, discussed here and elsewhere back when it happened.
ASIC also accredits Trans-Atlantic College, which was included on a list of mills recently posted by Gollum at DD. Poster "Harley Peterson" politely inquired why TAC was on the list. The idiot "expert" jerkoff fool Gollum replied that he couldn't find TAC on the DCSF lists of recognised and listed UK institutions.
Poster "johann" then dropped the hammer on the moron Gollum:
Quote:Yes - As Harley Said, Transatlantic IS recognized!
by johann on Thu Feb 11, 2010 11:07 pm
Oh - looky! Transatlantic College is right here (Page 106 -alpha order).
http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/employersandsponsors/pointsbasedsystem/registerofsponsorseducation
That was easy! Thanks, Harley, for enlightening us on this particular college. Thanks, Malcolm Jenner, for referencing this list in the "Stoopid Diploma Mills" thread, thereby letting us know that International College of Excellence wasn't the "brown and smelly thing" Dr. Gollin thought it was.
It should NOT usually be difficult to distinguish a dog-turd from an authorized school.
Johann

Well, Johann, for a normal person it would not be difficult. But it obviously is well beyond the capabilities of a self-absorbed, self-important dog-turd like Gollin. Without 15 people to do the hard part for him he's as helpless as an infant with a diaper-load of Princeton PhD.
In case it was ever in doubt, doesn't this finally prove, once and for all, the obvious:
GEORGE GOLLIN IS A FUCKING IDIOT!
Hey Gollum, you fuckwit, why not bookmark this link on your government-owned computer next time you visit your government-owned office at your government job, you fucking useless sack of shit: http://www.asic.org.uk/collegedirectoryUK.htm
Those are all righteous, government-blessed operations, and you will prove yourself again to be the ignorant cunt you are if you should ever again say otherwise. Get a clue, George Gollin, you worthless CHEA douchebag.

Thumbs up to Harley and Johann for hoisting Gollum on his own tiny little petard. Only happens every week or so, but great work nonetheless. How long before Goose feels compelled to delete it?
In fact, while Goose may not be the sharpest pencil in the box over there, you have to wonder how long before he starts deleting Gollum's increasingly irrational and potentially actionable posts instead.
Courts have ruled that it violates a person's constitutional rights for government officials (which Gollum, in his ongoing delirium, often claims to be) to post info on the internet for purposes of "shaming" unconvicted defendants.
Whether CHEA is a government agency is an interesting question in itself, but Gollum often has boasted of acting as a "government agent." It doesn't take a lot of imagination to see how some university might feel it was damaged by Gollum's lies and start suing everyone involved.
Now of course a guy dancing on the edge of bankruptcy like Goose probably figures he doesn't have much to lose anyway, so why worry. One more process server at the door doesn't make much difference. But as Gollum sinks deeper and deeper into his demented world of absurd, unproven fantasy claims and outright lies, does Goose really want to slide down the drain with him?
Goose! Come and join me! Your life is already down the drain, you might as well join me in a world of shit!!

Is that "scanned" or "scammed"?
Even Doogle is clamoring for a response from The Sphincter:
Quote:After 9 days, is the OP going to provide the answer in the thread's title?
Funny how he calls him "the OP," like he doesn't know his real name. Or maybe he means "Old Perv" or "Odd Prof" and not "Original Poster."
So who do you think Sphincter Boy is going to blame it on? You know he isn't going to just say "I'm clueless and I fucked up." That's only the absolute truth, so it's a safe bet that won't be happening.
I'm looking forward to another one of his classic "don't believe your own eyes" explanations, perhaps with a few delightful vacation travel anecdotes thrown in.

Just preserving this for posterity, in case Goose decides to 86 the thread to save Gollin's worthless ass.

A list of diploma mills, each of whom purport to be from the UK?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Close.
by g-gollin on Wed Feb 03, 2010 8:40 pm
A list of diploma mills, many (most?) in the UK.
The real question is: "Who assembled, and currently uses, this list?"
Gollin clearly states that this is a " list of diploma mills." Yet the list contains ASIC-accredited Trans-Atlantic College, as well as a number of others (e.g., City Banking College, London Crown College) that also are ASIC-accredited.
Obviously he either didn't bother to verify the list, or he deliberately lied.
What I think is funny is how Klempner claims he knows all about the list too.

Well, I know the answer, so I won't join the game. But I can add that if its source were known, it would be quite an important list.
Is it that Klempner is smart enough not to say anything he might regret later, or that he's diabolical enough to have given the list to Gollum in the first place, knowing it contained a few land mines?

This shows why Gollum is so thoroughly out of his league.
When you fuck up your little science experiment you just say "whoopsy," go get more government money and start over.
When you fuck up other people's lives and jobs and businesses with your stupidity you can't unring the bell.

You miss the whole point.
It's like Martin Luther King...
I read a page where some of his notorious dirty laundry was made public and delicious sobriquets such as "hardcore antiracist", "proud blackman" and others basically said: yes, we looked at the facts, so what? Even if MLK was a plagiarist, womanizer, had dubious affiliations and squandered money collected for the holy cause in prostitutes' wages, all that counts is that he stood for the right values: social alchemy, racial congregation and left-wing radical ideas.
As I said, it does not matter which line was crossed, but who crossed it and what kind of armband was he was wearing in doing so...

Wrong! Correct answers are "blame it on the British government," "hair-splitting, weasel-words and sophistry" and "irrelevant ad hominem invective."
Gollum Wrote:The list was described to me as the internal list of diploma mills used by the British government for its own purposes. It is possible that "diploma mills" might have been used in an imprecise fashion, where "degree provider of unacceptably low quality" would have been the actual intent.
Then he runs down both ASIC and the poster who noted, quite correctly, that Gollum had "screwed the pooch."
Yeah, like there is a big distinction between "diploma mills" and "degree providers of unacceptably low quality." Unacceptable to whom? The quality was sufficient for them to be accredited by an agency of the British government, whose opinion is the only one that counts.
No explanation of what, if anything, he did to verify the contents of the alleged "diploma mill" list.
No explanation of who gifted him with that lame "diploma mill" list. Perhaps it was a trusted source?
What's that email address that Klempner uses from Reed College, the one that begins with "Boris"?? Somebody gave Gollum an exploding cigar and he responds with some nursery rhyme he found on Google? The guy really is clueless.

No way! That's a direct hit! Using Gollin-speak, there are never any wrong answers!
It is possible that "don't believe your own eyes" might have been used in an imprecise fashion, where "blame it on the British government," "hair-splitting, weasel-words and sophistry" and "irrelevant ad hominem invective" would have been the actual intent.
Try this on your wife: "Honey, it is possible that 'I'll be back in a few minutes' might have been used in an imprecise fashion, where 'I'll be home drunk at 3 AM' would have been the actual intent." She'll be so impressed by your giant intellect and irrefutable logic that you'll never sleep on the sofa again.
I'm waiting for Dear Leader to make a speech: "It is possible that 'hope and change' might have been used in an imprecise fashion, where 'higher taxes and nationalization of major sectors of the economy' would have been the actual intent." Repeal the 22nd Amendment, that guy should be good for five terms!

Worse than clueless, he is a psychopath in my opinion. As Canadian psychologist Robert Hare said, they "know the words but not the music." Obviously he was speaking figuratively, but in this case it's actually literally true.
Don't take my word for it. Run Gollum through the Psychopath Detector and see what you get. Probable diagnosis: Psychopath.
As this incident (only the latest of many) illustrates, all the elements are present here:
Quote:THE MALIGNANT PERSONALITY:
These people are mentally ill and extremely dangerous! The following precautions will help to protect you from the destructive acts of which they are capable.
First, to recognize them, keep the following guidelines in mind.
(1) They are habitual liars. They seem incapable of either knowing or telling the truth about anything.
(2) They are egotistical to the point of narcissism. They really believe they are set apart from the rest of humanity by some special grace.
(3) They scapegoat; they are incapable of either having the insight or willingness to accept responsibility for anything they do. Whatever the problem, it is always someone else's fault.
(4) They are remorselessly vindictive when thwarted or exposed.
(5) Genuine religious, moral, or other values play no part in their lives. They have no empathy for others and are capable of violence. Under older psychological terminology, they fall into the category of psychopath or sociopath, but unlike the typical psychopath, their behavior is masked by a superficial social facade.

Why dosen't someone just sue this asshole for defamation or libel and put him out of business once and for all.
I wonder how many of his friends over on that other board will come to his aid and pony up the cash then. Guess everyone wants to kick you when your down, eh?
