Obviously, as with most things, the future is uncertain and the end is always near. But the fact that AU survived this process at all is meaningful. DEAC has shown little reluctance to boot institutions when problems were not corrected. So emerging from show cause is genuinely better than many expected a year ago.

In accordance with its procedure for Notification and Information Sharing (Section XV.H.), Part II
Processes and Procedures, DEAC Accreditation Handbook and 34 Code of Federal Regulations
§602.26(b) the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) provides written notice to the
U.S. Secretary of Education, the appropriate state licensing or authorizing agencies, the
appropriate accrediting organizations, and the public of its decision to vacate a show cause
directive.
The Distance Education Accrediting Commission (the Commission) met on April 29, 2026 and
voted to take the following action on the accredited status of an institution.
Vacate Show Cause:
The Commission voted to vacate the show cause directive for the following institution
• Anaheim University, 1240 South State College Boulevard, Room 110, Anaheim, CA 92806-
