George Gollin/Jerry Sandusky Connection?

Quote:Fellow Inmates Reportedly Sang “Hey, Teacher, Leave Those Kids Alone” To Jerry Sandusky

Following guilty verdicts on 45 of 48 counts, Jerry Sandusky was shipped off to Centre County Correctional Facility, the same facility he was initially held in December. According to a fellow inmate at the time, known only as Josh, Sandusky was on the receiving end of some a cappella ridiculing.

Quote:Other prisoners were barred from communicating directly with Sandusky, but they could see him. And when the lights went out, inmates serenaded the disgraced coach with a famous line from Pink Floyd's "The Wall."

"At night, we were singing ‘Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone,' " Josh said, adding that everyone knew who Sandusky was because inmates had access to television and newspapers.

Penn State's football program generates $50 million in profits annually, so they can afford to pay the estimated $112.5 million in legal fees, plus whatever they end up paying the victims.

How much profit does the U of Illinois physics department generate? Can they afford to pay the legal fees and settlements that George Gollin is going to cost them? University administrators know all about George Gollin's activities, and some (such as Robin Kaler) have even tried to stop him. Will they be hauled into court like Schultz and Curley?

PS. I seem to be making lots of new friends here in prison. In fact, some of the guys have given me a nice nickname--"Short Eyes." That's sort of catchy, don't you think?

Life imitates art. Sandusky really is writing a book in prison. No word yet on whether he will call it "A Dream of Serpents."

Quote:Report: Jerry Sandusky Writing Book In Jail
August 15, 2012 12:15 PM

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Just months after his conviction on dozens of child sex abuse charges, Jerry Sandusky is reportedly writing a book in jail.

Sandusky is awaiting sentencing after being convicted in June on 45 counts of child sex abuse.

A Johnstown TV station reports that Sandusky is being helped out with the book, by his wife Dottie.

Prison officials at the Centre County Correctional Facility say that Sandusky is no longer on suicide watch and is called a model inmate.

This would be Sandusky’s second book. His first book, which was published in 2001, was titled “Touched: The Jerry Sandusky Story.” The book is an autobiography that chronicles his times as a defensive coordinator at Penn State and his work at the Second Mile Foundation.

Sandusky's book is definitely one for my list. Its right up there with Gollin's book and John Bears masterpiece of my "must read" books! Rolleyes

Right you are, VB. When it comes to breach of trust those are three of a kind.

I was traveling over the Pacific Ocean some years ago en route to Los Angeles. I was traveling with a Marine who shared a seat in coach with me. he was stationed in Okinawa and was flying home to visit family and get some horizontal r&r with his wife (LOL!) On the looong plane ride to the states we settled in for a long flight with a very good friend...two in fact...Jim Beam and Jack Daniels. Over a game of canasta, we shared stories of boot camp basic training and serving in the military. After a few more snorts of fire water we both let hubris fly as we proudly championed our respective branches of service...I with the Air Force and he, being a proud "grunt"...hooorah! Anyways, after a few more hands of canasta and snorts of 'juice"... a curious thing happened... a freaking "CRAB" the size of a pinkie nail literally jumped from his eyebrow onto the serving tray we were playing cards and drinking from. I was floored and he laughed...he said some mamas-an must have had some dirty sheets at a massage parlor he patronized while being layed over in Guam! I diplomatically found another seat in coach that was not being used and settled in for what became an amusing if uneventful flight home. This crab that leaped from his "control-tower" had visible legs and segmented areas.
