Bomber Has RA Physics Degree

Model airplane bomber Rezwan Ferdaus holds a degree in physics from regionally accredited Northeastern University. No word yet on what third world crap hole this anchor baby's parents crawled out of.

Good thing he was just planning to blow up the Capitol and Pentagon. If he had an unaccredited degree he would be in some real trouble.

Sounds like a kid who had it all. Where does the urge to kill women and children come from? Somewhere where cowardice is a national pastime?

And the winners are.........Bangladesh and Cape Verde. (Cape Verde? Didn't the Green Hornet wear a cape verde?)

Born in Natick and married in Quincy? Can we think of any cross-dressing gay boy porn moderators with ties to Natick? Any malingering union goons with ties to Quincy? Must be something in the water.

Might have overdone it a bit on the "devout spritual practitioner" thing. Rolleyes

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Rezwan Matin Ferdaus, born and raised in Massachusetts, has been in trouble with the law before.

The Ashland terror suspect arrested by the FBI this week was also arrested in for marijuana possession while he was a Northeastern University student.

Ashland police stopped him in 2005 after his car ran a red light. Police smelled marijuana in the car, according to a police report, and found two plastic bags of the drugs inside the vehicle.

Ferdaus admitted to sufficient facts, and the case was continued without a finding.

Earlier, while a student at Ashland High, Ferdaus and two friends were charged with vandalizing the school.

His attorney asked that Ferdaus be placed on pre-trial probation because he was heading to Northeastern on a scholarship and he was worried that a finding in the case could jeopardize that scholarship. The judge agreed, ordering Ferdaus to pay $400 in restitution.

Ferdaus, or Rez, as he called himself, and his friends wrote a letter to their Ashland high school classmates admitting they poured concrete in front of school doors but denying they burned tennis nets and an American flag. They wrote they were being accused of crimes they did not commit, saying, “We are screwed, royally” and asked that anyone with information to “Please come forward and let the truth be known.”

Ferdaus’ attorney in that case, Peter Bella, told FOX Undercover that he was “surprised like anybody else.

“You always hope you’re not going to see your clients get in trouble again,” Bella said. “Ferdaus seemed like a well-adjusted kid.”

FOX Undercover has also found new information about Ferdaus’ family history.

Public records show Ferdaus was born in 1985 while his parents lived in an apartment on Silver Hill Lane in Natick. His older brother Farhad was born the year before when the family lived on Virginia Road in Holbrook.

When the Ferdaus children were born, their mother, Ana Maria Ferdaus, listed her occupation as “homemaker” and “housewife”. Their father, Showket Ferdaus, was an engineer.

Showket and Ana Maria were married in January 1981 at The Islamic Center of New England in Quincy. Their marriage certificate shows he was a 28-year-old native of Bangladesh working as an engineer and she was a 23-year-old student born in Cape Verde.

The Center’s former imam, who took over in 1982, told FOX Undercover that he didn’t believe the family was active in the mosque.

Before graduating from Northeastern in 2008, Ferdaus was also a drummer in the band Goosepimp Orchestra. But at some point Ferdaus dropped out of the band, apparently as his spiritual side developed.

An old message on the band’s website referred to Ferdaus’ leaving, saying, “Rezwan ‘Bollywood’ Ferdaus was the original drummer when the band formed in 2004 but then moved on to become a devout spiritual practitioner.”

It is not surprising to see that most of those suspected and eventually proved guilty of Islamist-related terrorism are immigrants or have an immigrant background. This person having been arrested most recently is reported to have a Bangla Deshi background. Most of those who have been arrested for the same charges in the UK are either UK citizens with some Pakistani-related ancestry, or native converts. Those flying the planes to crash in the World Trade were foreign students from Yemen or Morocco at a university in Northern Germany.
All of them were affiliated with local mosques known to preach hatred of Western societies and their life-style.
What does motivate people to get involved in such extremist circles that are the places to start for developing into a terrorist?
There is no clear-cut answer. But one thing is for sure, and that is that somehow these people must have had a special problem of integration into a society that granted them the freedom to live and study there and even provided them with the basic "needs" for their terrorist activities (training in flying the airplanes that crashed in the World Trade Centre, for example).
The doctrine of a religion, whether Christian or non-Christian, never provides a sufficient reason to murder and kill thousands of people, even if those committing such terrible crimes would claim the same. Those justifying the murder of thousands of people in the name of (any) religion are self-styled authorities without any legitimacy.
One of the more structural problems in Islam is that there is no official teaching office in terms of doctrine, an institution that Christian churches, for example, have. In Islam, anyone without sufficient religious training, can become the imam of a local mosque as long as he is deemed to be a "pious" Muslim. The latter is open to all kinds of arbitrary interpretation, and if you have an imam who thinks and preaches that Western societies with its high potentials of individual freedom are ruled by "devils", then this will eventually bear its tragic and disastrous fruits.
In closing, let me state that I think the FBI did an excellent job by observing and arresting this person.
Socialism and religiously based extremism are two sides of the same coin that is most likely to undermine the freedom of Western society.

With all respect, I do not intend to lecture you on Islam and on what a Muslim is.

But do you think that the criteria listed below make a real Muslim?

I, for my part, can see a lot of irony and sarcasm in the criteria listed below.

I just can tell you that about 30 % of the Kenyan population are muslims, and most of them are not like that!

Now what, big brother has opened the cages and allowed little hulkamaniacs to have a go at (supposed) Muslims? What did you think the melting pot was all about, eh macho maniacs? Cary Grant and Lucille Ball, or Uma Thurman and Denzel Washington dressed for Oscar time? The ad campaign about those submissive immigrants coming to save our welfare Ponzi schemes already ended?

I'm sure most Germans were not Nazis, and most Japanese did not bayonet women and children in Nanking either. But I guarantee you that 100% of the Americans on hijacked planes didn't deserve to die at the hands of terrorist scumbags. One terrorist nutjob is about one too many for my taste. I don't take any solace knowing that "most" muzzies are content to let someone else do their heavy lifting for them. Until they all learn to behave themselves properly they all are suspect and should be treated accordingly.

News Flash...
The origins of Japanese imperialism go back to...WWI.
WHO exactly hired Japan to do WHAT, exactly?
You got it...TO INVADE GERMAN CHINESE SETTLEMENTS AND PACIFIC COLONIES.
Are the Japanese to blame if they acquired a taste of it?

I am sure the Japanese bayoneted so many Belgian babies...ops...I'm getting a bit confused here...as much as I am sure in Dresden and in the Japanese cities targeted with deluges of incendiary bombs nobody died...well, that's an exaggeration...some DID die...but if you don't count drunk drivers and stroke victims you are down to negligible numbers.
You may also know that THE RAPE OF NANKING has long been exposed as...unreliable...but as "the gang" would have it, the hell with details if it serves the right cause (=theirs).

Wow, based on the title I thought that someone found evidence that Rich "Bomber" Douglas had received an RA Physics degree before matriculating at the University of the State of New York (now Regent College). Tongue

Too bad that wasn't the case. Instead it is about yet another angry young Muslim either born or raised in the U.S. who wants to commit terrorist acts. Strange phenomenon, I would love to hear John Bear's take on why he believes this is happening. Blacks, American Indians and Japanese-Americans were all treated markedly worse but none of those groups ever engaged in terrorism on a large scale.

BTW, while looking at DD I saw a Bear post in a thread on the death of actor Harry Morgan which listed the oldest living celebrities. I was suprised to find out that Professor Irwin Corey was still alive at age 97. I thought that the old commie had passed 25 years ago. Bear (still) has the ability to find somewhat interesting trivia and esoterica but I'd like to see him address an issue of some substance.

I imagine John ran out of SUBSTANCE about the same time he discovered that unaccredied schools were all fakes, including the ones he owned and managed. Only man I ever saw who could fight both sides of the same issue and be wrong both times, and still have people believe him. Face it the man has style. No character but plenty of STYLE.
