Quote:Why? You expect different rules to apply when dealing with different educational systems. What about the French VAE? Limitless work done elsewhere is accepted throught VAE, isn't it? And degrees are obtainable through VAE within a couple of months from any French public university.
I discussed that recently on another site.
(VERY) THEORETICALLY AND ON PAPER, VAE (just an acronym for PLAR, not a different concept at all ) allows chosen institutions to award full or partial degrees.
There ends the portion mills usually quote to their advantage.
What they won't say is that one has to:
1 prepare a detailed application following the law in its minutiae.
2 choose the 'right' institution to apply to.
2-a. mind that one's experience matches closely the credit ratio of the degree he's after. As a mere example, one may have worked 10 years as an accountant, but lack the equivalent of 'history credits' in an accounting degree, whatever.
3 meet the demands of and convince a jury in French in France how it is in their best interest to award a degree.
3-a. it is possible one be asked to prove his knowledge hands-on in a controlled environment.
Of course I was rebuffed and someone loudly proclaimed that 'many' (?) French institutions offer full course service in English and that he had a 'list' to prove it, offering two names to start with.
I doubt that they ever offer full course service (or JUST ANY service ) in English, and nothing on the sites of those universities offered any kind of proof to the contrary.
The list never materialized and all we were left with was a broken link pointing to some website.
The proponent of the list slammed the door offended because I (?) was mocking him.
So you see it's hard to believe everything you are told.
Quote:Degrees from universities accredited by the MOE of a sovereign nation are accepted almost anywhere and that's a fact. Don't forget Liberia is a full member of UNESCO.
Propaganda.
Look at the list of 'acceptable credentials' on any major university's website and you'll see not all degrees on a comparable level are equally accepted, following the country of origin.
Quote:St. Regis appeared very convincingly to be a bona fide accredited Liberian school. Nowhere did it appear as an American school or as a school run by Americans. They had a Liberian address and Liberian telephone and fax numbers. Their domain had also a Liberian suffix. Confirmation of St. Regis accreditation did not come only from the Liberian embassy as some people seem to think. People also confirmed St. Regis status by calling and/or obtaining accreditation and all sorts of other documents directly from the MOE in Liberia.
you ignored my point about the public they served, but that's ok.
Quote:Well, Gollin did not limit himself to just expressing opinions, he used his privileged position to initiate action that resulted in a very positive outcome. I don't understand what might be wrong with that. I or you could never do it, Gollin could from his position and he did.
Look at how I handled the ESRDS affair: from my privileged position of telephone and email holder, I sent emails and made phone calls. They won't land on my curriculum, though, as they did with Gollin's.
Quote:What you're saying above, you're saying it with the benefit of the knowledge we have today and not with what could be confirmed knowledge at the time.
WRONG.
I jumped after ECOLE SUPERIEURE ROBERT DE SORBON as soon as it appeared in the open. Maybe that concerns you or someone else, but not me.
Quote:A couple of them used to be among the most vociferous defenders of St. Regis legitimacy. Gollin was often the target of their vicious attacks because they believed they were right and Gollin had launched a hate campaign against their "school" for his own, unknown, sinister reasons. Well, Gollin was right and they were wrong and they came not only to accept and acknowledge that, but also to be thankful to Gollin because it is now obvious that what he did was for the best for them too.
Gollin (and Uncle Janko and Gregg DesElms and George Brown and John Bear and Alan Contreras ) is so 'good'
that he shared the premises of and adhered to the cult of a gay teen pornographer named Thomas Chip White...Hint: Thomas Chip White 's (owner of degreeinfo ) sordid and graphic advertisements of his own 'business' on queer boards are just one click away...
