Gollum has admitted that the dissertation was a collaboration and not his individual work, but it credits only one author. If he is willing to lie about this he surely will lie about anything. He's a total academic fraud, in my opinion. Why he is employed by any university in any capacity is a mystery to me.

I think his wife, Mel the Conflict of Interest Officer, must have gotten the job for him. Probably convinced them that nepotism doesn't apply to the laws of physics.

This makes perfect sense...in Illinois. Illinois seeks a $3.7 billion bailout to cover pensions, but they spend $100,000 on a physics prof who only "teaches" one quarter of a physics class a semester. Rolleyes

The laws of common sense don't apply there either.

One half of a freshman fine arts class and one quarter of an undergrad physics class doesn't equal two. Try about three-quarters total, depending on how much you really do yourself and how much you make your TA do.

That seems unusually concise for Gollum, just 8 words. No baby talk, no bathroom references, only one lie.

Baseball spring training just started and the pitchers are all on pitch counts. I wonder if UIUC lawyers have Gollum on a word count? Anything over ten and he has to co-teach two sections of FAA 199 (Intro to Gay Studies for Freshman) next semester.

I see how you got the one-quarter. There are four class meetings a week and if Gollum "teaches" (i.e., sits in the room while the students talk amongst themselves) for one of the four, that makes 25%.

But the lecture (A) sections are 50 minutes in length twice a week, or 100 minutes total a week; the discussion (D) sections are an hour and 50 minutes in length once a week, or 110 minutes; the lab (L) sections are also an hour and 50 minutes in length once a week, or 110 minutes.

50 + 50 + 110 + 110 = 320

110 / 320 = 34.375%

So in terms of actual class time, Gollum gets roughly one third, not one quarter. In terms of teaching quality...well, let's just say that you might have been generous at 25%.

But clearly he is only teaching portions of two classes, not two full classes. Another day, another lie for Gollum.

Can you imagine what a Gollum-led physics "discussion" would be like? "Okay class, let's talk about relativity. Relatively speaking, who is the bigger war criminal, Bush or Hitler?"

Classroom drinking game: Every time Gollum picks his nose, scratches his ass, sniffs his armpits, plays pocket pool or flips his wrist you take a drink. Entire class would be smashed in ten minutes.

. As far as the numbers go...can you believe an Arab when he denounces Bush's administration? The right guys put out a counter-study that exposes all that as untruth. Witnesses? Come on...it's like the Armenians...a BBC top-shelf documentary concluded the jury is still out on the genocide thing...perhaps the fantastic pro-American Turkish government is right and they mostly died of influenza and sore feet. Russian academics recently absolved the soviet regime from most of the so-called crimes the ill-informed associated therewith. Nobody died in the great famine and the gulag is almost entirely a literary fiction by politicking dissidents. Rolleyes

The politicking teacher is one of the byproduct of leftist social alchemy. That's one of the reasons why I shun the traditional B&M scene. I don't need a complimentary genocide studies, chicano studies, GLBT studies, cultural studies, women studies etc when I take an unrelated class.
