Gollin Conflict of Interest ---Yes/No ?
#1
With Gollin being a CHEA board member in the United States, should he be having any activity with regards to investigating "diploma mills" in any public manner such as being used as a resource with investigative newspaper articles etc. ?  He certainly has the right to investigate on his own time, but does it cross the line when he is used in a public manner ? Can this be perceived as interferring with inter/intra state commerce ? International commerce ? Tortious interference ? All the while spreading an Accreditation agenda as a CHEA board member.

Or should this bloke be allowed to do whatever he wants regardless ?

God Bless America is what I say.

Cheers,

I would belive this is a conflict of interest.

At least he should state - on every posting and appearance - that he is stating his views as an individual member of society, and that his views in no ways represent the official views of the CHEA.

In fact, when posting, it could be a good idea just to include such a statement as a part of his signature.

His primary conflict of interest is that he touts his credentials as a University professor every time he opens his mouth to lend some credibility to who he is. That has nothing to do with his self-appointed expertise as a "diploma mill" buster and places the university in liability for massive law suits. This idiot knew nothing about distance learning or distance education came out of no where in August of 2003 and he was on CNN as an expert on the topic (SRU) in late 2003. SRU's grauduate Chambers made him look like a fool on CNN. He is like Obama, a "learn while you earn" idiot who knows nothing except what he has heard from the ilks of John Bear and the crew.

the unwashed don't care, as long as it's 'impressive' to read...and reporters care even less, provided it is 'sensational' and sells well.
Maybe they know their 'online expert' o'day has skeletons in his closet (the various John Bear & Thomas Chip White )...maybe they don't...it makes no difference.

How did this Gollin clown ever get in at CHEA in the first place?

CHEA used to be a credible organization, maintaining a usable database of accredited schools and leading the cause for inter-accreditation agency recognition of credits.

Then they put an ass-scratching, nose-picking cyberstalker on their board???

So his wife wrote him a letter of recommendation, but what kind of weight does she have?  She wears mens' clothes, makes religious slurs and sells mutant hogs for food.  CHEA found that impressive?

CHEA is starting to look like the education version of Fannie Mae.  A bunch of quasi-government douche bags spending taxpayers' money and undermining the very institutions they are charged with helping.
