I saw a row of Vichy's newsreels from 1940-44. Although the full truth was far from being there in its entirety, I found them overall more accountable and reliable than today's news...hell, they even mentioned Katyn was a soviet crime, that life was hard and that Germans were retreating in Russia...while today they are always winning in Iraq, Aghanistan or whatever oil/opium paradise they invaded last week...and trillions lost in just the last crisis are just a case of sloppy accounting and bad manners, rather than ominous signs of the fateful decline of the post WWII regime...
