Bear relocates back into woods

John Bear announced, in his usual not-so-subtle way, that he has moved from the SF 'burbs into a rural area ("among the redwoods") of beautiful Northern California. I find it interesting that Bear chose DI over DD as the venue for this news cloaked as a question. Is there more to this than meets the eye?

New car, new house, trip to Yorp....hasn't he heard there's a depression on?  Sounds like business is a-boomin' for Klempner.  And just what business is that?

Years ago J. Paul Getty authored a series of magazine articles that eventually became his book "How To Be Rich."  The series ran in, of all places.......Playboy.

When asked why Playboy, Getty's answer was simple.  He wanted to publish it some place where young men might read it.

So I think Klempner operates on a similar theory.  The three people who post at DD already know where he lives.  Two of them don't care and at least one of them is hoping he perishes in a forest fire.  No fun there.  But he knows the toe lickers and socialist knuckleheads at DI will be thrilled to learn all about his exciting adventures.  

And he wasn't disappointed, was he?  Soon his mundane encounter with a rodent got turned into a chupacabra.  Can a sasquatch be far behind?   Delightful.  Just like his diploma mill "research," where somebody's church school becomes an international terrorist threat.  One small grain of truth ("my dog barked") mixed with one giant load of speculation.  Give him credit for turning his trash into other people's treasure.

Can't tell you about the new place (yet), but the old place is listed for sale at $725,000.

No indication whether the place reeks of Wheaten terrier urine.

North Carolina is a bit too Bible Belt for someone like Bear isn't it?

I guess its a matter of money. Nobody can afford to live in the bay area. Its supposedly the most expensive place in the US.

I'm pretty sure he said "northern California," not North Carolina.  "Mendocino coast" would be NoCal, not NC.

But you are right, unless there is a Bible Belt devoted strictly to the Old Testament, that wouldn't be Bear's catheter of coffee.

Although he did donate to the Meher Baba group that is his tenant at the former bordello on Stockton Av.  Not exactly a donation, just forgave them the water bill and no doubt deducted it on his taxes.
