Tenured Professor at U. of California at Riverside Is Fired

A tenured professor of finance at the University of California at Riverside, who allegedly earned outside income while on sabbatical, was fired by the university system's Board of Regents on Thursday, the Associated Press reported. The dismissal comes after two decades of lawsuits between the university and the professor, Sarkis Joseph Khoury. The proposed dismissal went to the board after being endorsed by a faculty committee, the campus chancellor, and the system president. The AP reported that Mr. Khoury released a statement calling the board's decision "absurd" and saying he had resigned from UC-Riverside on January 1.
