running DE/DL web searches, it is the second "book", phone-directory style of DE/DL institution i find for sale (NOT Bear's guide ).
Again, each book pimping a different row of "school", now promising "accredited degrees FAST & EASY with tons of PLAR.
Again, the same names as sponsors: Capella university, university of Phoenix...
This "guide" business must sell well.

JB is rumoured to have made at least $10,000,000US from his 'guide' books, his HW activities and his fake school activities (L.I.A.R., etc). Certainly somewhat more than Frank Abagnale!

If you ask 100 college students, at random, who John Bear is you get.......??

Try asking 100 college presidents, at random, who John Bear is and you'll get the same.........???

The works of a man is his measure. Greenwich / Fairfax / CPU / Millard Fillmore, and finally the aptly named  "L.I.A.R."  John looks into the mirror and sees a mountain. We look at him and see the truth, a mole hill with an attitude.

"Each bird loves to hear himself sing."

If John hadn't done so much harm with his self promotion, biased statements, and out-and-out distortions, one might be able to laugh at his childish antics.  As is usual, with these self promoting gurus, they tell you what you want to believe, what you need to hear, and charge you for it. Then later on they either get religion and admit they lied or embellished the story or they blame you for the problems and keep right on with the self promotion.

At least Frank Abagnale went straight.....after he was caught. Smile

Can you believe all the crap Bear was shoveling. CPU was a decent, useable school. The degrees it issued had value and usage in most cases; it was a decent unaccredited college, but, it was never this outstanding university that the best colleges in America--Harvard--Yale--Princeton, were just sitting back and waiting to hire its graduates.

Bear says that it was a state approved school during his involvement, WRONG, it was not. CPU first gained approval in 1983 for two of its programs. It did not receive full institutional approval until three years after Bear had sold his stock and moved on. Before this CPU was one of the $50,000 state licensed schools. If you had $50,000 in assets and met some minimum standards you could have your own college. That is what CPU did. It was one of those $50,000 California schools that Bear likes to make fun of today. While he was there as a minority owner, while his wife worked there, that is what the school was, a state licensed college, NOT State Approved.

Let me make plain here. I'm not saying the school was bad, it was not, it was real, and it was decent. It just wasn't that much better than many other unaccredited schools. Bear just hyped and over-inflated a decent school into the Harvard of the West because he was part of it. In other words CPU was not what Bear told us it was, and most, if not all people, realized that, then and now, but some were believers and got burned.

"I sympathize with John Bear as it was his communique that enticed me to CPU in the eighties."

John enticed many more besides Earon.
