Now that you mention it, she's seems to be about par for the course. You've got the gender-ambiguous clothing, although that could just be her Iowa fashion sense and not necessarily evidence of k.d. lang leanings. You've got the mutant pork peddling scandal. And you've got her darling lesbian daughter's public revelation of her religious bigotry:

I'm sure I'd mistake everyone in that family for dirt too. Not just an anti-Catholic bigot and a possible deviant, but a violator of food and drug laws too, according to the FDA. Obviously that's why UIUC made her an administrator and not just a professor like poor incompetent George. He could be getting remedial education from Gay Al to upgrade his deviance and religious bigotry levels so he can qualify for a promotion.
Wifey probably tells him, "George, I have some very important administrative duties that you wouldn't understand, so I can't be bothered with you right now. Why don't you go lock yourself in your office for a few hours and play computers with that nice Alan?"
