I think a better question might just be, "Why didn't you just buy a better rifle?"

A better rifle - you jest. An army surplus Carcano fires three shots and makes eight holes in 2 moving target at 100 yards through an oak tree and you say get a better rifle. Despite the fact that the Italians switched sides quicker than a merry-go-round, it can't be because of the Mighty Carcano. Perhaps if the Marines in Iraq had Carcanos??
