How did all these old farts stay out of the army?
It was sad to read this, as I'm sure Jimmy really knows that in the USA (and throughout the world) hunters are the world's leading conservationists. I think his comments are those in line with what he believed his mates at DD wanted to hear.
The USA based Ducks Unlimited is by far the world's largest conservation organisation, with over 600,000 duck hunting members - with their money being the main reason why DU has been able to restore, create and protect millions of acres of vitally important North American wetlands.
Three of my UK conservation idols - Peter Scott, John Aspinall and Jeffery Harrison - were hunters who spent their lives working to save threatened species, and their habitats, from extinction.
And in NZ the people working hardest to save our endangered waterfowl from extinction are duck hunters.
