Before the attack, the suspect had walked into a large room with multiple computer labs where the press conference was to be held “acting crazy,” one witness said. He briefly grabbed the microphone and said “Check, check, check” and “Can you hear me?” before leaving the area near the podium.

An administrative assistant at the college saw the suspect acting suspiciously, moving slowly around the computer room and playing with a butterfly knife in his left hand. Another witness said the suspect was pacing back and forth.

The assistant told Dimmitt that they should notify security. They believed the suspect overheard them and when Dimmitt left the room to call security, the suspect charged at him in a “full sprint,” police said.

Ah, so it seems that even the meager initial media coverage of this incident was erroneous. Leftist pothead didn't "mistakenly" stab anybody. Dimmitt was onto him, so the nut attacked him first to prevent him from calling security. Yeah, who expected them to call security just because you were talking into the governor's microphone while playing with a butterfly knife?

Since the governor's arrival was imminent, wouldn't you think that security would already be on the scene? Somehow even the pothead figured out that you need to plan these things out a little bit ahead of time. Security seems to have been behind the curve--i.e., not even operating at a pothead's level. These wouldn't by any chance be government union employees, would they?
