A website reports the shooter is connected to and perhaps motivated by the OWS movement.

Reports by a Florida private investigator connect the Aurora Colorado shooter with Occupy San Diego. The motivation for the shooting appears to be the negative portrayal of the Occupy Wall Street movement. There are conflicting reports about this but it fits with our coverage of the plot of the movie. The shooter is being called a "black block" member of occupy who felt the movement was not radical enough.
