ECOLE SUPERIEURE ROBERT DE SORBON (UNIVERSITE): fine for fraud by French court
#3
As they say (and as it was discussed long ago ) ESRDS offers "certificates"...in other words they keep to the gray (legal) area of the bargain.
After all, it is an ASSOCIATION...if the courts dissolve ESRDS, they should do the same to ALL associations under that provision, which is not feasible.
If my "friends of the cod" association wants to print me a certificate in accounting, well...
Their certificates are purely novelty items...paratrooper ID, black belt ID...
The important is Prade was fined on the grounds of escroquerie -fraud-.

Quote:it seems irrelevant whether he operates out of a barn or a cupboard instead of 10,000 acre campus with a faculty lounge, student union and football field.

By using this argument to defend what clearly is a crassly commercial operation by unscrupulous individuals offering instant phony credentials for money, the argument gets discredited when applied to truly legitimate cases.
You can't defend both DETC and ESRDS (and other dodgy diploma-by-wire operations) on the same grounds.
And let's make no mistakes: they are an ASSOCIATION offering CERTIFICATES, while they tell you they are a UNIVERSITY like any other offering DEGREES like any other: that's the fraud part.
