The American Dream has been exported to China? Say it ain't so!

This is what happens when a cartel controls entry into a profession. American born, raised and educated students can't pursue their profession of choice because it is too expensive or too exclusive. They must either travel to some exotic locale or give it up.

Meanwhile, foreign born, raised and educated students are welcomed to the US with open arms and given all the free stuff they can carry or steal. What is wrong with this picture?

Remember the bumper stickers from the 70s, "Buy American or go to Japan for your job?"

Well guess what, many people are actually going abroad for their careers. I heard an add on the radio for a TEFL Certification School. You fork over some bread, learn how to teach people to speak English and voila you got a job in China.

Not that I would not find it interesting to work and travel abroad. But when people can get a 60k a year job in the People's Republic of China when they cannot get a comparable job at home, you know something is messed up.

They say that 21st century will be China's century.

Maybe I should look for a school that teaches Mandarin.
