Does "Levicoff" really exist?? I think he is a figment of Klempner's once creative but now increasingly senile mind. Perhaps a composite character created to illustrate how even the lowest degenerate could con his way past the academic gatekeepers with hot air and deviance.
He is like the "Tuttle" character in the TV show MASH ("There's a little bit of Tuttle left in all of us--in fact, you might say that all of us together made up Tuttle.") Or more likely, the Lieutenant Kijé character in Russian literature. Or even "Comrade Ogilvy" in Orwell's 1984.
The "truck driver" story allows anyone to post as "Levicoff" from any computer anywhere, and explain the odd ISP as simply part of being "on the road."
Consider this:
1997, "Sgt. William Schumann," Wag the Dog--Psych patient in a military hospital for raping a nun, allegedly a war hero rescued from the Albanians.
1997, "Dr. Steve Levicoff," AED--Allegedly earned college credit for playing his guitar and having gay sex.
Coincidence?? Ha!
