I don't think ancient origin gives anyone claim to anything. The Jews are presently in Israel. That is a legitimate claim. DNA evidence seems to indicate a middle east origin other than a whole whack of Ashkenazi Jews seem to descend from 4 European women.
I've always wondered how French-Canadians with Irish or Scottish names prevent being mistaken for Anglos and treated like dog crap. Does anyone actually read their resumes.
