It is somewhat subjective but I would say that individuals who have done at least their own thesis if not a doctoral diss could make an informed judgement. Sainz is a 120-day wonder, Elmer is a dangerous person and Chip is a gay porn entrepreneur - nothing said by any of them with regards to scholarly works carries any weight.
On the other hand, Bear, the late Uncle J (who once called me a cretin but I'm sure that he meant it in a nice way
), Peter French, George Brown, Gollin, Tony Pena, Rich Douglas and Brad Sweet, among other known DL personalities (perhaps even Bruce the Cop), could provide a somewhat more informed judgement than those of us who have not conducted such research and prepared a theis/diss or published work.It is interesting to note that I haven't seen any negative comments about Dr. Hayes' work from anyone who has actually read it.
