True, but there is just that special heightened sense of irony when some supposed liberal do-gooder gets caught commiting some impropriety in order to get into or retain office. Naturally their motives are only to promote a progressive social agenda and any benefit they may receive is only incidental. It's not even suprising when some greedy, rapacious conservative gets caught lining his/her pockets at the public expense. On the other hand, when some social conservative gets caught with his pants down getting his weenie whacked it has more impact than when it happens to a liberal. (e.g. the Eliot Spitzer scandal)
Spitzer has recently reemerged on the cable talk shows as a "talking head."
