The average education of most of the millionaires I've known ranges from 8 to 12 years. They acquired a basic skill, found a niche, worked very hard, and caught a few breaks.
Education will always be a must in the professions but I don't think it means much in the real world.
People I have met who have made their own fortunes also tended to live comfortably but not extravagantly. They leave that to their heirs to do while pissing away the inheritance.
