It'd make no difference...of course we have no mind-boggling numbers to brag because it's not in big brother's interest to know, but some claim German prisoners died by the hundreds of thousands in post-war Germany in ALLIED camps (forget Russia). I read that Eisenhower (?) invented the definition of 'disarmed enemy forces' to dispense with the provisions of the Geneva convention, while influential Jewish statesman Morgenthau pushed a 'doctrine' calling for a drastic reduction of the German industry (and population)...
Why didn't the war end sooner?
I can understand Morgenthau who -although of no better moral caliber than his enemies- wanted revenge for his fellows, but Eisenhower?

After the war, Americans & the English vented extensively to expose soviet concentration camps in their new propaganda, while little is known to this day about ALLIED camps...some claim 1-2 millions POWs (forget civilians) died there...but of course no emotionally devastated statesman will ever jerk tears or build a monument to commemorate something that never happened, right?
Some even relay stories of American officers punished for throwing food to starving Germans against orders...
I suspect the whole 'America better than Russia' is mostly -if not entirely- a myth...I am sure Russians had one of their own.
