It was at this time that TNARS and NATS parted ways because of doctrinal conflicts. TNARS restructured their programs and redefined the Doctor of Divinity degree into a Doctor of Ministry degree. Lawrence E. Bray then submitted all of the materials required for the TNARS D.Min. degree. This D.Min. degree was earned under the oversight of the TNARS Oversight Department.
It was not until after Lawrence E. Bray was issued his degree through TNARS (independent of NATS) that he was elected president of TNARS.
