Virtually every aspect of this prosecution was bogus, from the government's theft of records to the judge sitting on an RA board of trustees.

How could the judge not see that he has a serious conflict? That one really bothers me. Who appoints federal judges? Who gets rid of them?

Did he keep the case because he thought he could really screw the competition but good?


Let's see:

(1) Nobody complained or could be convinced to complain until heavy handed federal agents forced them to.

(2) Seizures were made contrary to the terms of the warrant and policy.

(3) The US government applied pressure on Liberia to remove legitimate Liberian accreditation to help the government case.

(4) False accusations of bribery of foreign officials were made for what were legal facilitation payments or expenses. The parties receiving the payments apparently don't deny receiving them, they just deny the characterization as a bribe. Tell me that Uncle Sam himself is not slipping a few bills here or there in foreign countries. It's the way the world works. Did your water accidently get shut off at 5:00 o'clock Friday evening? Do you want it back on sometime before next Wednesday? Did you forget to give a nice gratuity to the police officer when he dropped by at Christmas for a visit? I'm sure if you call the police they'll show up just after lunch the next day.
