Sure biofuels drive up agricultural product prices and starve people. In Afghanistan a large percentage of farmland is diverted to growing poppies to addict and kill our kids and people there are going hungry.

Western countries and their politicians are pure farce.
I watched a documentary filming a convoy of Afghani opium travelling the country; on board the crummy trucks you had few locals dressed in rags.
The trucks were stopped at a 'democracy checkpoint' and ignored. The checkpoint honcho ( from some joke country in the service of the USA ) told undercover reporters later that he knew there was opium/drug materials there, but he had been instructed to 'ignore if being ignored' as long as hostile acts are not committed. Opium has excellent cropping since democracy invaded the country. Now a transient reminiscence of Iran-contras and other sordid details of what goes on behind the curtain of democracy taking over, John Wayne speeches and Chuck Norris patriotism.
Talk about war on drugs...
A off-air commentary suggested that might be explained with appeasement and outreach to accommodate tribal leaders and to minimize guerrilla.
We all know that raw drug material will be processed and -in large part- end up pimped in our schools...billions worth of taxes spent 'waging war on drugs'...
Remember the old days?
They said the Talibans were using drugs as a weapon, too bad they were a foreign power out of reach...but one day righteous democrats would finally put an end to it, eh?
