Schools like Princeton also have an obligation to ensure that the kids and grandkids of rich benefactors actually graduate. It's whoring on a higher plane.
Out in the world people think that a degree from an Ivy League school is the key to riches. Wrong. People who do well are already rich. They only way you advance in the class structure is with cash. The poor minority kid is groomed to shine the shoes of the Kennedys, not to be the Kennedys.
Gollin's family obviously didn't have tons of excess money because he's teaching undergrads at a state run school. I've done that without Ivy League and without a PhD. I guess there's the possibility that there is family money and he simply is a scew-up.
