Now here is the e-mail Bear sent to Walsh just after he had outed Walsh. Bear tries to say he didn't really do it and blame it all on the reporter, though it is obvious that Bear was the source of the juicy stuff about Walsh.
E-mail to John Walsh from John Bear:
"Why I left. I explained that it was harmonious and friendly; that I wished to affliate with the Heriot-Watt program, and you didn't, and that we have been in REGULAR communication since my 1991 departure. I pointed out that the hiring of someone with the credentials of Dr. Capogrossi really impressed me with Greenwich's commitment.
What is on Norfolk. I resisted telling him about the 72-story office tower. I told him that I have not been (and would they like to send me on a fact finding mission), and only know what the website reports, about a GU building there.
What about Columbia Pacific University's situation with the state of California, and its Indian accreditation. He seemed intrigued by this (as indeed am I). I reminded him that you did your doctorate there at a time when CPU was unquestionably and properly licensed by the State of California."

Bear fed the reporter the negative information the reporter needed and then gave just enough positive stuff to allow Bear to say he didn't out Walsh. In other words tell the sheriff he saw you at the crime scene, holding the weapon, that you hated the person, and then say, but he's not really such a bad guy. See I didn't out him. Of course Bear did him. Just as HE did John Gray. They only contacted Bear for the dirt, and Bear knew it, but he wanted his name, JOHN BEAR, in print so badly that he would do the deed. I hope he enjoys the 30 pieces of silver he gets paid, some friend.
By the way, John Gray got his Ph.D. from CPU in 1982 when Bear was doing his famous reports on how great CPU was. Something he apparently forgot to tell the reporters. He also seems to have forgotten to mention that he was a minority interest owner of CPU.
