I agree James...personally, I don't think colleges and universities, should require or need oversight from the regional accreditors. I have always believed that they serve a purpose...ensuring that grammar school and high school's are providing sound education for minors and those not attending post-secondary education...they have even failed in this endeavor! The RA people have done nothing to ensure that students graduating from high school are matriculating, with the necessary academic skills, that a graduate of 12 grades of schooling, should possess...uh-uh, the community colleges are teeming with students seeking remedial math and grammar!...All post-secondary institutions should be able to police themselves, with oversight coming from the "states dept of education", this should be sufficient. RA has been spread way to thin for to long and they are unable to do justice anywhere...this is the long and short of it...
