Obama Continues Bush-era Surveillance - ham - 11-15-2009 Quote:In his approach to National Security Agency surveillance, as well as CIA renditions, drone assassinations, and military detention, President Obama has to a surprising extent embraced the expanded executive powers championed by his conservative predecessor, George W. Bush. This bipartisan affirmation of the imperial executive could "reverberate for generations," warns Jack Balkin, a specialist on First Amendment freedoms at Yale Law School. And consider these but some of the early fruits from the hybrid seeds that the Global War on Terror has planted on American soil. Yet surprisingly few Americans seem aware of the toll that this already endless war has taken on our civil liberties. http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/crime/2322-obama-continues-bush-era-surveillance As I predicted, the more the trumpets sound to salute change, the more it stays the same... Shortly, the main thing that will part 'old' Bush from 'new' Obama will be what started it all...one had a mother who was an interracial profligate and did porn... Great... RE: Obama Continues Bush-era Surveillance - Dennis Ruhl - 11-15-2009 If anyone wonders why the administration under Obama looks a lot like that under Bush they need only to look to the extended civil service. They set the policy and run the show. Does anyone think Bush created US policy? RE: Obama Continues Bush-era Surveillance - Dennis Ruhl - 11-17-2009 As a loyal subject, I would show respect for the Queen of Canada, Elizabeth II, but Obama, the leader of a sovereign country bowed or was that curtsied to the emerperor of Japan. I think you Yankees just recognized subservience to the Japanese emperor but since Toyota took over as top auto maker we already knew that. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/091116/usa/japan_us_diplomacy_asia_obama What next, grovel to the king of Lesotho? RE: Obama Continues Bush-era Surveillance - ham - 11-17-2009 In Japan the deeper the bow, the greater the social or spiritual disparity between the 2. The emperor bows slightly, while mr. porn momma Sambo bends 90 degrees... Quote:The gesture appears to have touched a particularly raw nerve among Obama critics who said the president has hastened America's decline as a world superpower by being too apologetic and too deferential in his dealings with other world leaders. These hillbillies have watched too many reruns of those third rate Chuck Norris movies of the 80s. Face it, who's the biggest buyer of US debt? Red China, followed by a top ten of other seemingly unwonderful regimes...and thank you they do buy US junk bonds...otherwise all those hip conservatives and other idiots would have to bid their daily caviar, oysters and foi gras goodbye... Obama may not be smart but he's not a fool...he knows where he stands... The king of Arabia and the emperor of Japan are not the king of Tonga... RE: Obama Continues Bush-era Surveillance - DR ANATIDAE - 11-17-2009 Here's something that will make Obama very popular: http://www.infowars.com/obama-takes-first-step-in-banning-all-firearms/print/ Anyone seen LORD OF WAR? Anyone who saw this factual movie would have noted the list at the end of the movie – showing the world’s leading suppliers of firearms and war machinery to terrorists; all are members on the United Nations Security Council – the very people who want to take firearms off law abiding individuals! The Security Council members can be seen at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_members_of_the_United_Nations_Security_Council The United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, France, and China – are also the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. RE: Obama Continues Bush-era Surveillance - ham - 11-17-2009 Unfortunately I surmise it has much less to do with power schemes to dominate the world than with bare survival. International treaties need Senate approval I think, but they are too bust digesting foi gras to bother with the implications and there are ways around Senate approval in place for decades... Cliques and conspirators exist, but the purchase of junk bonds and other debt proxies is vital for any western nation, let alone the quintessential junk grandfather of all western lies, the USA. That is why the biggest buyers are often unwonderful regimes typically finger pointed as such. Again, having a gun at home will NOT prevent big brother from storming your house any time it sees fit...or from eavesdropping or wire tapping...this has been going on for decades... Do you really plan to use that gun against that fantastic patriot-agent who has kicked in your door at 3AM? What, are you a Nazi or some other threat as big brother says you are, then?Remember Wacko? So say you kill one of those brave patriots who are just following orders to defend the great nation (oppressors? What?! Are you thinking like a Taliban?! They are trying to FREE AND PROTECT you!!!!!!! ), go to Guantanamo to board the water and make headlines next to that 17yo monster who printed homemade fliers saying Hitler was great, and next to that hideous pedophile. |
