President Barack Obama got so emotional while thanking his campaign staffers in their Chicago headquarters that he began crying.

The normally stoic Democrat had to repeatedly wipe away tears during the five-and-a-half minute talk that was caught on video and posted to YouTube.

'I'm really proud of all of you,' he said.

At one point, his baritone voice went another octave deeper as he got choked up while talking about the parallels between his own story and that of his young campaign operatives.

Perhaps it is the closure of his final political campaign, but something has brought out the emotional side of the 51-year-old President of late.

He was seen wiping away a tear or two at his last campaign rally on Monday night in Des Moines, Iowa. Though the cold temperatures may have had something to do with the showing on Monday, that could certainly not be used as a contributing factor on Wednesday.

Obama appears to tear Monday while discussing the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11. Republicans say the administration tried to play down an act of terror that might reflect poorly on the President before the election.

WASHINGTON — An aggravated President Obama on Monday dismissed criticism of his handling of the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, as a political “sideshow.”

He said a Republican charge of a coverup “defies logic.”

Although Obama sounded more irritated than emotional, a Reuters photo showed what the news agency described as a “tear” running down his face. ...

Obama has teared up in public at least twice since November — while thanking his campaign staff and after the Newtown massacre.

The U.S. ambassador and three other Americans died in Benghazi last Sept. 11.

Republicans claim the administration misled America immediately after the attack, trying to play down an act of terrorism that would reflect poorly on Obama before the election.

Obama said “Nobody understood exactly what was taking place during the course of those first few days” but that it soon became clear the attack was terrorism.
