Douglas may have only been a captain but remember that he did command the entire US Air Force in Korea.
All of this at what is essentially the second lowest rank in the officer corps.
2LT to LT is a birthright, not a promotion. A captain has essentially earned only one promotion.

BTW, this Stanislav Ustymenko is a piece of work. Somehow he has managed to stay below the radar screen but upon closer examination it seems that he is just as much an asshole as anyone else at DD. (except the good guys like Little Fauss, Ted Heiks and one or two others)

what perplexes me most is how much effort these keyboard sociopaths put into this facade...
this individual talks as if someone had attacked his brother or cousin, whom he knows very well...
come on man!
Most of them wouldn't be able to part one another from a ford Escort for 1 million dollars if they met tomorrow...
Loyal buddies?
