John Bear actually recommended Kennedy-Western? - Virtual Bison - 03-02-2011 http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/distance-learning/kennedy-western-university-transcripts-527060.html This is an old thread and I stumbled on it through a google search. Check out the post by dwaterman1334. This post was made by someone who is a member of this board, and referred to another thread here. Anyway thank you dwaterman for this interesting tibit. Quote:You might be surprised to know that Kennedy-Western wasn't always a "degree mill." I chose to study there because of what John Bear had to say about the school in his book: RE: John Bear actually recommended Kennedy-Western? - Virtual Bison - 03-02-2011 Actually a correction is in order. The poster said that he did not write the article himself but he did refer to it. This is the reference he posted concerning Dr. Bear on this very board.... http://www.dltruth.com/thread-22.html I am sure many of you remember this thread. I read through it and found it interesting. RE: John Bear actually recommended Kennedy-Western? - BROWN TEAL - 03-03-2011 Around 2002 John Bear wrote to me suggesting that if I wanted a real degree I should look at Kennedy-Western University and Greenwich University. Earlier than that he had recommended the California University for Advanced Studies and I received a quite impressive brochure. I have always understood that JB had a major involvement in all three - not that there was ever any problem with that; it was what he said after he became a 'gang member'! PS JB also said some nice things about Knightsbridge before he joined 'the gang' and became an RA or NO WAY supporter. After which he then blatantly contradicted everything he'd previously written - and from which he had made a lot of money! No way! ![]() He actually comes accross as a nice guy on degree discussions. He does not tend to get in any arguments and seems like a fatherly old guy. Of course from what I read about him its all a ruse. Bear's contempt for KWU may have to do with a bitter feud he had with Paul Salzman, the University's founder. I read how numerous times he had run ins with Salzman which resulted in shouting matches. RE: John Bear actually recommended Kennedy-Western? - jamesc1 - 12-28-2011 I don't really have a problem if John Bear changed his mind about Kennedy Western, but, what he actually did was say that he never said it was good. He has attacked people who followed his advice and lies about having ever said that unaccredited schools were good. I have many of his books and a lot more of his quotes and sales material so I know what he said and didn't say. The man pushed unaccredited schools as a good choice and now walks away from that. And that my friends makes him a great big phoney, and worst of all, he did it for money. I feel sorry for all those people who bought his so called guides and were fooled, but he fooled many of us. RE: John Bear actually recommended Kennedy-Western? - jamesc1 - 02-03-2012 He is also a phoney who lacks even the slightest bit of remorse for the harm he has done. He likes to brag about having written letters of support for a few people with unaccredited degrees. But for every letter that may have been a little help he did much more harm with his words to the press and on the few TV programs he went on. In these reports he flatly called all unaccredited schools complete frauds or at best nearly worthless. Now how would a few letters make up for his blanket statements to the press that all of the unaccredited schools were fake or worthless? No, Bear has been far more harmful than any unaccredited school could ever be. You know it wasn't the schools that were fake and useless. It was Bear. You are right that Bear is a phony. I, too, can understand and even respect someone who has changed their mine on an issue. The problem with John Bear is that he promoted various unaccredited schools that he touted as legitimate and intimated that they may eventually become candidates for accreditation (undoubtedly because of his involvement with the school ). However, as soon as he no longer had any financial interest in that school the story changed. He would first detail some problems that he uncovered that caused him to sever ties. After a period, he would then start calling the school a mill, savage it in interviews and in the press (if he could con a reporter into believing that he was an expert). Simultaneously he would be quietly become involved in another new (and unaccredited) school and the cycle would begin once again. Dr. Hayes called John Bear (and the late Uncle Janko) on this b.s. in 2005. Neil had recently been complimented on his doctoral diss by JB in private correspondence but later was ripped by the same JB on some DL board. Uncle J was also great for the same type of crap.
