[quote=ham] Have you anything to resort to, beside "guilt by association"? An association that exists only in your mind.
By the same token, you are a peddling dodgy schools because you are on their payroll... [quote]

Very observant Ham: yes, I'm employed by Century, Madison, Rushmore, Almeda, De Sorbon, KU, Trinity C&U, and many other private providers; plus a number of Royal Chartered institutions - which are totally devoid of any governmental influence!

Wow! Your logic REALLY is flawless...so in your opinion a royal charter means the institution is out of the reach of governmental interference? Isn't the crown a part of government? Boy...you really killed Ham's poor arguments dead in their tracks...Big GrinRolleyesRolleyes
Now Ham does believe you may truly be an outstanding Sorbon graduate...sorry...

Sadly Ham you have confirmed that you know as little about Royal Chartered institutions/societies as you do about Sorbon.

Here's a link to some of the Royal Chartered institutions in the UK. By and large they only have to gain Government approval when they change their rules and regulations:

We're progressing here...from "totally devoid" to "partly devoid"...great...I am proud of you, son...Big GrinBig Grin
Does "partly devoid" mean "still under the influence"...?

Totally devoid of Government interference, and even when they change their rules it invariably comes down to a rubber stamping affair - even for those who receive lots of handouts from the Government. In other words 99% of Royal Chartered Institutions are autonomous - including universities.

Care to explain how the autonomy you just inferred squares with your assumptions about

Quote:Both Gollin and Ham are extremist supporters of State Control over education and both appear totally adverse to DL education. Whatever we say we will never change their shallow socialist thinking/mentality, but we can try!

1 Are you saying there are countries where "the State" exerts only nominal control devoid of any real influence...if so, care to elaborate?
2 Or...?

There are close to 1,000 Royal Chartered societies and institutions in the UK - and about 5 in NZ. All are totally independent groups - and as I said before, the bureaucrats only become involved when there are proposed major changes to the rules.

Even the charters of the universities or institutions which you love to refer to as "under socialist state control" proclaim their independence. I am not aware -with the possible exception of fundamentalist religious schools- of any university or similar admitting in their charter that they brownnose with the State.
I think we can say that there too, the State is uninvolved as long as "changes to the rules" aren't involved...
