Independence Day 2011--How Do You Like Him Now? - Dickie Billericay - 07-04-2011 RE: Independence Day 2011--How Do You Like Him Now? - Virtual Bison - 07-14-2011 I've seen better Presidents and I've seen worse. I think it will be up to History to judge Obama's presidency. RE: Independence Day 2011--How Do You Like Him Now? - ham - 07-30-2011 Oh come on... maybe not 99% but the majority back in the days of sunrise would complain all there was to opposition was hatred because Barry Soetoro's mom loved black eggplant (yes, there is the white variety of THAT, too). Where are they now? And all the doctor professor itz tal stein boim? Where have they gone with their tirade about the authoritarian personality as mental illness? Didn't I anticipate it would end just as previous experiments of the kind ended (Fujimori in Peru; the mulatto miss Italia ages back)? There was some socialist dolt on here trying to grasp at straws...where is the bacchanalia of platypuses, whigroes, hippies and liberals? RE: Independence Day 2011--How Do You Like Him Now? - Herbert Spencer - 07-30-2011 RE: Independence Day 2011--How Do You Like Him Now? - Ben Johnson - 07-31-2011 I doubt Obama will get the Democrat nomination. His only hope is that no-one else wants it. Either way it's 8 years of Republicans. All the heat Palin got and she had actually run something without effing it up. All politicians eat the swill from the same trough. Jefferson was quoted as saying: Quote:If the American people ever allow private banks IMHO Jefferson was the most honest person when it came to telling the truth about corporate money and how it corrupts those in power. But I thought your Jefferson quote didn't sound like Jefferson, and in fact it is a fake. See, e.g., http://www.monticello.org/site/jefferson/private-banks-quotation Also, http://www.rense.com/general85/phony.htm and http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi/read/134357 What Jefferson did say about banks was: Quote:"[The] Bank of the United States... is one of the most deadly hostility existing, against the principles and form of our Constitution... An institution like this, penetrating by its branches every part of the Union, acting by command and in phalanx, may, in a critical moment, upset the government. I deem no government safe which is under the vassalage of any self-constituted authorities, or any other authority than that of the nation, or its regular functionaries. What an obstruction could not this bank of the United States, with all its branch banks, be in time of war! It might dictate to us the peace we should accept, or withdraw its aids. Ought we then to give further growth to an institution so powerful, so hostile?" In fact Jefferson distrusted the "self-constituted authorities" beyond the Constitutional reach of the people, not private enterprise.
