As for Chip White, I can't ever remember having
any opinion of him, he was a shadow character over at DI. Why don't you scan all my posts over there (you probably already have) and post here all the glowing things I said about him? But what's funny is that Chip is continually thrown in the faces of those who rejected his site once they discovered his financial involvement with porn. Why don't you go over to DI and complain to the people who stayed? Regarding Mr. Bear, so far as I know, he's a person with some integrity, though I wouldn't know him from Adam if I met him on the street.

At bottom the point is not whether Des Elms did this or that ugly thing in the past; it's not about whether Janko "bombed" a doctoral program; as detestable as Chip's activities were, it's not even about how he made money (though that was enough to drive many away from DI so that there'd be a DD); it's not about Gus being a crummy businessman; and it's not even about whether or not John Bear was once a participant in a mill (so long as that's a thing in the past).
It's not the lack of
character that DD people decry, there are any number of people who lack character who don't draw their ire.
It's about being at present a millist or an accessory or a sympathizer. They out no one, so far as I know, who's not engaged in that sort of activity. I see nothing wrong with outing someone who at present is involved in academic fraud. If my degrees had been obtained by mail sans work, I should be outed also. Fair is fair, it's fraud to falsely represent your education; it's a crime in some cases. If you happen to like putting trout in your underwear, that might be deviant, but it has nothing to do with the matter at hand and only an ass or an evil person would seek to out you.
To answer your questions, I'm neither an ignoramus nor an expert on online learning. I first started in online teaching and/or course development in 2006; I've taught on ground for five years. You can easily discover on various fora that I've studied for years for an online AACSB MBA. I also have two B&M degrees, one of them graduate. I haven't hidden a thing save for my name and SS#. I have no idea if Huffman died, but I hope he's alive and well.
Again, the difference is between outing someone for the sport of it or because they have some quirk that you don't like (wrong political slant, washed out of academic program, went bankrupt, disagree with you) and outing someone because they are perpetrating academic fraud.
