Information deemed "maliciously harmful to government"?

A political website that contained stinging criticism of the Obama administration and its handling of the Fast and Furious scandal was ordered to be shut down by the Obama campaign's "Truth Team", according to private investigator Douglas Hagmann, who was told by ISP GoDaddy his site contained information that was "maliciously harmful to individuals in the government."

Hagmann, CEO of Hagmann Investigative Services, Inc., a private investigative agency serving a roster of Fortune 500 clients, was given 48 hours by GoDaddy to find a new home for his website before it was deleted.

Hagmann was told the reason for the shut down was because the website featured "morally objectionable" material. After GoDaddy refused to identify the complainant, only saying that it was not "any official government agency," further investigation by Hagmann revealed that the order came from a group tied to Obama campaign headquarters.

Speaking with the chief investigator in the GoDaddy Abuse division, Hagmann discovered, "Ultimately it was found that the complaint originated ostensibly with a group associated with the campaign to re-elect Barack Hussein Obama."

Turning to his contacts within government, Hagmann then spoke with another source who confirmed that the "Obama Truth Team" was responsible for the shut down order.

"I'm laying this right on the doorstep of the Obama Truth Team," said Hagmann.

The "Obama Truth Team" is an outreach of the Obama 2012 re-election campaign that urges supporters to "help fight back against the attacks on President Obama and his record" by reporting supposed misrepresentations and lies. However, as ABC News reported, the "Truth Team" has mischaracterized legitimate criticism as smears in an effort to chill dissent against Obama. It has also been caught fibbing on a number of other occasions.

The same methods of intimidation were also very much in force during the 2008 campaign season. Under the guise of the "Obama Truth Squad", influential public figures in Missouri including St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, and Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, promised to "respond quickly, forcefully, and aggressively" to "lies" about Obama.

As ABC News highlighted, this helped to create a chilling atmosphere in which "Missourians might be afraid of being prosecuted for criticizing Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill."

This is by no means the first time political websites have been shut down on a whim with no due process after official pressure is brought to bear on ISPs.

In December 2010 Amazon responded to pressure by Sen. Joe Lieberman and the Department of Homeland Security by axing the Wikileaks website from its servers.

GoDaddy itself is not renowned for its support for free speech. The company lost 37,000 accounts last year over its initial failure to oppose the controversial Stop Online Privacy Act (SOPA).

Despite the fact that his son was getting married on the same weekend, Hagmann was eventually able to move his website - HomelandSecurityus.com - to another server before it was deleted by GoDaddy.

"It took an incredible number of man hours and it was a tedious (and costly) process, but I have successfully moved my site out of reach," Hagmann told us.

Hagmann noted that his story from last month about a DHS inside source warning of coming mass civil unrest, which went viral on the Internet, was one of the primary reasons behind the effort to shut down his website.

Hagmann is now warning that any independent website which forcefully dissents against the Obama administration could be targeted next.

"I respectfully ask that you spread the word -- that the Obama "Truth Team" is out in full force, scouring any U.S. based web sites of any size or influence (yet small enough to be pushed around) that contains any information deemed "objectionable" to the Obama re-election campaign. Perhaps it's already too late. Regardless, people need to wake up now and listen to what we"ve been saying. There might not be a tomorrow," Hagmann told us in an email.

World Net Daily editor Joseph Farah: "They will be at war, we will be hunted down"

Paul Joseph Watson

World Net Daily editor and prominent Obama administration critic Joseph Farah revealed how his secluded property was buzzed by a spy drone -- part of what Farah fears is a "war" being waged by the administration against its political adversaries.

"I'm taking my dog for a walk and guess what I see right over the tree line right above my head is a drone," said Farah, adding that the drone was low in the sky and sounded like a lawnmower.

"I don"t live in the city, I don"t live in a populated area, I live in one of the most rural places you could possibly live in Northern Virginia and there could only be one thing that this drone was spying on and that would be me, that would be my property because there's just nothing else around except woods and deer," said Farah.

Farah joked that the drone was probably stalking him because he was a terrorist, given the fact that a recent report funded by the Department of Homeland Security put out by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism listed Americans who are "reverent of individual liberty" as "extreme right-wing" terrorists.

"The liberty lovers out there really have to stick together -- or we're going to hang together as our founders said," warned Farah, expressing his concern that patriots who resist the increasing levels of control being asserted over their lives by big government would be "hunted down" by a re-elected Obama administration.

"Look -- this is the first term -- if he's re-elected it's going to be war -- they will be at war -- we will be hunted down like dogs, keep that in mind, that's what the stakes are," said Farah.

Farah highlighted the fact that he was targeted for an audit at the height of World Net Daily's dissent against the Clinton administration as part of a process of the Clintons targeting their political adversaries and that the "audit train" returned in 2009 shortly after Obama came to power.

The fact that Farah's home is in Northern Virginia is noteworthy given the controversy caused last month by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell's statements that police using drones would be "great" and "the right thing to do." In justifying the use of drones domestically, McDonnell cited the U.S. military's use of the technology in a battlefield environment.

Following an easing of restrictions, the FAA predicted that 30,000 surveillance drones would be in American skies by the end of the decade. Drones are already being used by police departments and federal authorities across the country.

The mainstream media recently attempted to quell uproar over the use of drones domestically by attacking Infowars, World Net Daily, Drudge Report and others for pointing out that the EPA uses drones to spy on farmers.

While the hit piece attempted to claim that the EPA doesn't use drones for such purposes, a search of the federal agency's own website uncovered numerous projects where the EPA was using drones to "support environmental decision making" and create "a continuous environmental monitoring capability."
This really comes as no surprise.

A number of websites were silenced in the past.
A popular message board, RATM (Rage Against The Machine) was shut by the secret service during the Bush adminstration after one member made what was seen as a death threat against the President.

I know of one individual, Sherman Austin who ran RaiseTheFist.com, who actually spent time in prison for what was posted on his board.

Incidently, the Pentagon Papers case which went before the Supreme Court established that it is unconstitutional to exercise prior restraint on any media source.
Now the O-tards are arresting people who post things online that they don't like. Wait, somebody is knocking at my door, I'll be right back....

Quote:Outcry after military veteran detained for anti-government Facebook posts
Published August 21, 2012
Associated Press

A former Marine involuntarily detained for psychiatric evaluation for posting strident anti-government messages on Facebook has received an outpouring of support from people who say authorities are trampling on his First Amendment rights.

Brandon J. Raub, 26, has been in custody since FBI, Secret Service agents and police in Virginia's Chesterfield County questioned him Thursday evening about what they said were ominous posts talking about a coming revolution. In one message earlier this month according to authorities, Raub wrote: "Sharpen my axe; I'm here to sever heads."

Police -- acting under a state law that allows emergency, temporary psychiatric commitments upon the recommendation of a mental health professional -- took Raub to the John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell. He was not charged with any crime.

A Virginia-based civil liberties group, The Rutherford Institute, dispatched one of its attorneys to the hospital to represent Raub at a hearing Monday. A judge ordered Raub detained for another month, Rutherford executive director John Whitehead said.

"For government officials to not only arrest Brandon Raub for doing nothing more than exercising his First Amendment rights but to actually force him to undergo psychological evaluations and detain him against his will goes against every constitutional principle this country was founded upon," Whitehead said.

Raub's mother, Cathleen Thomas, said by telephone that the government had overstepped its bounds.

"The bottom line is his freedom of speech has been violated," she said.

Thomas said her son, who served tours as a combat engineer in Iraq and Afghanistan, is "concerned about all the wars we've experienced" and believes the U.S. government was complicit in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. One of his Facebook posts, she said, pictured the gaping hole in the Pentagon and asked "where's the plane?"

Whitehead said he found nothing alarming in Raub's social media commentaries. "The posts I read that supposedly were of concern were libertarian-type posts I see all the time," he said.

The big concern, Whitehead said, is whether government officials are monitoring citizens' private Facebook pages and detaining people with whom they disagree.

Dee Rybiski, an FBI spokeswoman in Richmond, said there was no Facebook snooping by her agency.

"We received quite a few complaints about what were perceived as threatening posts," she said. "Given the circumstances with the things that have gone on in the country with some of these mass shootings, it would be horrible for law enforcement not to pay attention to complaints."

Whitehead said some of the posts in question were made on a closed Facebook page that Raub had recently created so he questioned whether anyone from the public would have complained about them.

"Support Brandon Raub" Facebook pages have drawn significant interest, and other Internet sites had numerous comments from people outraged by the veteran's detention.

Raub's supporters characterized the detention as an arrest, complaining he was handcuffed and whisked away in a police cruiser without being served a warrant or read his rights. But authorities say it wasn't an arrest because Raub doesn't face criminal charges.

Col. Thierry Dupuis, the county police chief, said Raub was taken into custody upon the recommendation of mental health crisis intervention workers. He said the action was taken under the state's emergency custody statute, which allows a magistrate to order the civil detention and psychiatric evaluation of a person who is considered potentially dangerous.

He said Raub was handcuffed because he resisted officers' attempts to take him into custody.

Marine Hero Detained For Exercising 1st Amendment Rights

August 22, 2012 By Kris Zane

Brandon Raub served his country well, apparent from the amount of medals and decorations he received as a Marine.

He fought for this country, for freedom, and for the Constitution.

One thing in particular that he fought for was our right to free speech.

That right was taken away from him on August 16, 2012.

A contingent of police officers, FBI agents, and Secret Service agents wrestled him to the ground in handcuffs and took him away without due process, without being arrested, and without any semblance of legality.

Waiting back at John Randolph Psychiatric Hospital in Hopewell, Virginia was a psychiatrist willing to do the U.S. government's bidding, who signed a court order to lock up Brandon for thirty days of "observation."

What tipped off the FBI and Secret Service agents that Brandon was insane and might harm others?

He dared to criticize his government.

In a phone interview he had this to say:

Quote:I really love America, and I think that idea that you can be detained and sent somewhere without due process and a lawyer...is crazy.

Wake up, America or you'll be next...
This is from Raub's Facebook page. Aside from more than a few spelling errors he sounds like at worst a 9/11 conspiracist, and more likely just your average 26-year old ex-Marine. He's seen first-hand how the military--and by extension the government--works (or doesn't) and he's not impressed. He seems to believe in American exceptionalism and opposes government manipulation of the economy and foreign intervention. He correctly notes the flawed education system, in addition to being an example of same. If he's a "Terrorist" then we are all in trouble with Big Brother.

America has lost itself. We have lost who we truly are. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave. This is the land of Thomas Jefferson. This is the land of Benjamin Franklin. This is the land of Fred[e]rick Douglas[s]. This is the land of Smedley Butler. This is the land John F. Kennedy. This is the land of Martin Luther King. This is the land where the cowboy wins. This is the land where you can start from the bottom and get to the top. This is the land where regardless of you[r] race and ethnicity you can suc[c]eed and build a better life for you and your family. This is the land where every race coexists peacefully. This is the land where justice wins. This is the land where liberty dwells. This is the land where freedom reigns. This is the land where we help the poor, and people help each[ ]other. This is land where people beat racism.

The federal reserve is wrong. They have designed a system based off of gre[e]d and fear. They designed a system to crush the middle class between taxes and inflation. This is wrong, and it is unjust. It is wrong.

We have allowed ourselves to be de[ceiv]ed and seduced by the powers of the printing press. It is not a good system. It discourages saving: the foundation for all stable economic activity. The federal reserve is artificially manipulating interests rates and creating phony economic data. This thing has dec[ei]ved our entire nation.

They created it [in] 1913. They also created the income tax in 1913. They encouraged the growth of debt so they can tax you on it. There is interest on the debt. Your government is in bed with these people. They want to enslave you to the government so that they can control every aspect of your lives. It is an empire based on lies. They operate of greed and fear.

There is a better way. It's called freedom. Freedom is called a lot of things. But there is a true meaning. It means very simply that you have the right to do whatever you want as long as you are not infringing on the f[r]eedoms of other people.

I firmly believe that God set America apart from the other nations of the world. He saved a place where people could come to to escape bad systems of goverment. This system we have created works. It really works.

There is evil going on all around the world. The United States was meant to lead the charge against injustice, but through our example not our force. People do not respond to having liberty and freedom forced on them.

Men and Women follow courage. They follow leadership, and courage. Our example has paved the way for people all around the world to change their forms of goverment.

Force is not the way because liberty is a powerful concept. The idea that men can govern themselves is the basis for every just form of government.

We can govern ourselves. We do not need to be governed by men who want to install a one world banking system. These men have machine hearts. Machine and unnatural hearts. They have blocked out the possibility of a better world. They fear human progress. They have monopolies on everything.

This life can be free and beautiful. There are enough resources on this earth to support the world's population. There are enough resources on this earth to feed everyone. There is enough land for everyone to own their own land and farm, and produce their own energy.

These people have been hiding technology. There are ways to create power easily. There is technology that can provide free cheap power for everyone. There are farming techniques that can feed the entire world.

They are controlling your media. They have dumbed you down through your school systems. They have systematically dismantled the constitution. It is in rags.

The bill of rights is being systematically dismantled. Men have spilled their blood for those rights.

Your sons and daughters, your brothers and sisters, and Americas best young men and women are lo[]sing their limbs. They are lo[]sing their lives. They are lo[]sing the[ir] hearts. They do not know why they are fighting. They are killing. And they do not know why.

They have done some extr[aor]dinary acts. Their deeds go before them. But these wars are lies. They are lies. They dec[ei]ved our entire nation with terrorism. They have gotten us to hand them our rights. Our Rights! Men died for those rights!

September Eleventh was an inside job. They blew up a third building in broad daylight. Building 7.

Your leaders betrayed you.

You elected an aristocracy. They are beholden to special interests. They were brainwashed through the Council on Foreign Relations. Your leaders are planning to merge the United States into a one world banking system. They want to put computer chips in you.

These men have evil hearts. They have tricked you into supporting corporate fa[s]cism. We gave them the keys to our country. We were not vigilant with our republic.

There is hope. BUT WE MUST TAKE OUR REPUBLIC BACK.
Quote:Va. judge orders release of detained veteran
LARRY O'DELL, Associated Press
Updated 3:09 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- A judge on Thursday ordered the release of a former Marine who was detained for psychiatric evaluation after posting strident anti-government messages on Facebook.

Prince George County Circuit Judge W. Allan Sharrett said at the end of a one-hour hearing that the involuntary commitment order issued by a magistrate against Brandon J. Raub was invalid because it contained no allegation or basis to hold him, according to the head of a civil liberties organization that represented the 26-year-old veteran.

"This is a great victory," Rutherford Institute executive director John Whitehead said. "He's a good human being. He just got caught in some weird bureaucratic meanderings and the judge recognized that there's really no true facts to hold this man in a psychiatric ward."

Raub was released from the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center late Thursday and was on his way back to his home in the Richmond area, a Rutherford Institute spokeswoman said. Both Raub and his mother, Cathleen Thomas, were unavailable for comment.

Raub, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, was taken into custody Aug. 16 after being questioned by Chesterfield County police and federal agents about his Facebook posts. The FBI said the interview was prompted by complaints from people who read his ominous posts, including some that spoke of a pending revolution. One said "a day of reckoning" was coming, and another said: "Sharpen my axe; I'm here to sever heads."

Onlookers shot a video of Raub being led away from his home in handcuffs and posted it on You Tube, fueling a groundswell of support for the veteran and criticism that the government was trampling on his free-speech rights. The Charlottesville-based Rutherford Institute came to his defense, characterizing the government's actions as those of a police state. Raub was not charged with a crime.

"Brandon Raub was arrested with no warning, targeted for doing nothing more than speaking out against the government, detained against his will, and isolated from his family, friends and attorneys," Whitehead said. "These are the kinds of things that take place in totalitarian societies. Today, at least, Judge Allan Sharrett proved that justice can still prevail in America."

He called Raub's release a victory for the First Amendment.

"People a have right to go on Facebook or the Internet (and) say things that people might not agree with, "Whitehead said. "But that doesn't mean they're crazy or should be incarcerated for it."

Raub initially was taken the John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell, where he was held over the weekend for a preliminary evaluation. After a hearing Monday, another judge ordered Raub detained for an additional month and transferred him to the Salem VA hospital.

Thursday's hearing was expected to be limited to Raub's objection to the transfer, so Whitehead said Sharrett's decision came as a surprise.

"The petition is so devoid of any factual allegations that it could not be reasonably expected to give rise to a case or controversy," the order says.
Quote:Brandon Raub A Victim Of "Pre-crime Detention"?
August 25, 2012
By Doug Book

Interrogated by FBI and Secret Service agents, thrown to the ground, handcuffed, and driven off by local police who maintain he was never really ""under arrest", Marine Sergeant Brandon Raub was finally freed from a psychiatric hospital on Thursday after Circuit Court Judge Allan Sharrett dismissed a petition of involuntary commitment on the grounds that it was "...so devoid of any factual allegations that it could not be reasonably expected to give rise to a case or controversy."

In fact, that petition, filed by the Chesterfield Police for the purpose of holding Raub in the John Randolph mental facility, was BLANK!

On Thursday the 17th, Raub's Chesterfield County, Virginia home was invaded by minions of federal law enforcement and his hometown police department as a result of entries on the Marine's Facebook page that the government deemed "...ominous posts talking of a coming revolution."

An attorney from the Rutherford Institute, a Charlottesville civil liberties group, went to the mental facility to which Raub had been committed by a local judge acting in accord with the wishes of federal law enforcement authorities. "For government officials to not only arrest Brandon Raub for doing nothing more than exercising his First Amendment rights but to actually force him to undergo psychological evaluations and detain him against his will goes against every constitutional principle this country was founded upon"? said Rutherford Executive Director John Whitehead after interviewing the Marine.

Raub's "crime" is in stating that the government is not telling the truth about the 9/11 attacks; that the nation is being run by an evil, anti-American group of political and financial insiders; and that a revolution must soon take place in order to re-establish the constitutional rights of the American public. These beliefs led Raub to post opinions on his Facebook page that federal agents contend were "terrorist in nature."

But as Whitehead sees it, "Raub was targeted for doing nothing more than speaking out against the government." In fact, the American people should be far more concerned about the fact that "...government officials are apparently monitoring citizens' private Facebook pages and arresting people with whom they disagree." For although an FBI spokesman said the agency did not do any Facebook snooping, many of the Raub posts about which the Bureau claimed to have received numerous "complaints" had been entered on a "closed Facebook page" which Raub had "...just created and that had only three members," one being Raub's sister.

In 2009, the Department of Homeland Security announced the beginning of a ""Media Monitoring Initiative." Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by the Electronic Information Privacy Center (EPIC), it was discovered the DHS had hired General Dynamics to monitor everything from major media to Twitter and Facebook for "...reports that reflect adversely on the US Government [or] DHS." At the time, Janet Napolitano lied about the true purpose of this Department program, but information gathered by EPIC in the lawsuit made it clear Obama's minions were scanning public websites for evidence of disloyalty to and criticism of the Obama Administration.

With neither charge nor warrant, Brandon Raub was handcuffed and removed to a mental facility for "...doing nothing more than speaking out against the government." Clearly, such cases are designed to intimidate future critics of Barack Obama or any would-be federal dictator. And the "pre-crime detention" suffered by Raub is a stark warning to each American that self-censorship must be considered preferable to imprisonment. Nice folks in Washington, DC.
