Any idea for Columbia Southern U?

Hi friedns, this is my first time in this site. I've been searching for a PhD in business since already had a MS from a regional accredit university. My probelm is working schedule rotates every week, so I prefer online classes. I was thinking about Northcentral U also but changed my mind when I read topics in this site.

If RA vs. NA is not an issue for you (e.g., self-employed, government employed, privately employed non-academic) Columbia Southern has a good rep amongst the DLers. Definitely avoid Northcentral.

If money is an issue you can get a DBA done cheaper at U of Atlanta or CalU. Both are DETC accredited.

Depending on your area of interest, if you are willing to pay for RA or just want a PhD instead of a DBA, here's some DL programs from B&M schools, which potentially gives you the best of both worlds:

Kansas State
Indiana State
Concordia U Chicago

And of course the usual suspects you can find by googling. Of those, the best value for the money right now seems to be TUI.

You may be on to something there, RG. For a guy with "a MS from a regional accredit university" who can't spell "friends" or "problem" correctly, instantdegrees.com might be his best shot.

BTW, in case anyone missed the news last December, CSU has been granted candidacy status by SACS. This is no guarantee they ultimately will become regionally accredited, but it would take a seriously major screw up for them to fail at this point. Naturally they are bumping up tuition accordingly, which means they aren't quite as good a deal as they were, but still a nice price for a soon to be RA degree.

ORANGE BEACH, Ala.-- On Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) board of trustees granted candidacy status to Columbia Southern University.

Accreditation not only ensures quality and integrity of academic programs. It also serves to verify that an educational institution has established and placed into practice instructional, student support and other services to assist students in achieving their educational goals.

Achieving SACSCOC candidacy status is a key milestone toward achieving institutional accreditation with the commission.

"Obtaining institutional accreditation with SACSCOC has been a priority of mine and our board of trustees since I became president in 2018," said Dr. Ken Styron, president. "After years of preparation and envisioning greater opportunities for our institution and our students, I am thrilled to announce that we are now officially on the path toward SACSCOC membership."

Obtaining SACSCOC accreditation is a multi-step process. An institution must first become an applicant, next a candidate, and finally, a member (accredited). CSU is currently accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) and has maintained accreditation since it was initially granted on Jan. 15, 2001.
