OPM on Acceptability of Unaccredited Degrees
#11
If high schools were doing their job, we wouldn't be graduating students who are unable to do basic math and English. Graduating a bumper crop of functioning illiterates doesn't speak very highly of the regional accreditors, who continue to provide an "accredited seal of approval" to numerous high schools, that regularly fail in their mission to oversee the quality of education provided to students who matriculate. Obviously we have a serious disconnect when our community colleges are teeming with students who have no business their or even having a high school diploma...from a regionally accredited school, in light of the fact they cannot type, "except to send a text message"...and have woeful math and English skills...we won't even touch on their knowledge of state and federal government, or understanding of our nations history. Granted, many students do possess these skills and are able to function successfully at a post-secondary level. I'm only referring to the students who continue to seek higher education...when they were unable to grasp the rudiments of education from high school...heck JUNIOR HIGH!

I encountered two little girly-men, some years years ago on the net. One was named Byron, who liked to kiss Buddhas ass...LOL!...Byron/Myron was a twisted little "libtard", who claimed he was a capitalist pig...he got the "pig" part right. I haven't heard from him or his gay-lover buddhapest in a while....hmmmm. One is now professing to be an authority on distance education...methinks he's another wobbler...who plays both sides of the distance learning card....ehhh buddha?

Whatever became of Buddha the libtard and Byron the capitalist oinker?...These two socialists are still trying to pass themselves off as DL authorities...pretty funny. The school they opened was a flop, it offered "gay" classes in moto-cross and debate...the only students enrolled were guys who waved the "rainbow" flag...LOL!

People have become too lazy to actually read and remember details. They are lucky if they can recall enough to pass a multiple choice test no matter how easy it is. We get what we require of kids. We ask little and get little. A fool and a smart person can both get the same degree from the same school at exactly the same time. Sad isn't it?

As to RA... It means as much as the school wants it to, no more or less. I have RA diplomas and Nationally Accredited. Both can be easy or hard, just depends on what the school is trying to do and how they view their money needs.

Hi everyone,

I know this is not the place to post this remark but I am very amazed and impressed by the professionalism and concern of this site's posters. Having been in DE/DL since the early 1980's I have found many individuals who do not understand the various avenues of RA and NRA that possess similar professional and noble aspects. In fact, as an examiner, I have assessed many schools, some accredited and bad and some non-accredited that are better. I wish the site much success.  I possess three graduate degrees and a fellowship (London - eq. MPhil) and I am currently at age 66 working on an advanced doctorate (DSc). Learning in wonderful!

Welcome to the board, celindgren.  You are correct, learning is wonderful.  Why then do so many people (not saying you do, but rather the usual dung heap of libtards and socialists) cede control over something so wonderful to the government?

Probably because the government IS the people, and it can do things collectively that cannot be accomplished by individuals and/or the private sector alone. Accreditation is a blend of those dynamics.

Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party of the United States or of any party or group which advocates the overthrow of the government of the United States?  You know, like your butt buddy's dad.
