Quote:Hello everyone – how’s everybody doing today? I’m here with students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. And we’ve got students tuning in from all across America, kindergarten through twelfth grade. I’m glad you all could join us today. ...

0:25   Isn’t that Gollin’s kid on the right—the one with the eye shadow?

Damn, if I knew AC/DC was gonna play I wouldn't have cut class!

Nah, not ugly enough.

Alternate take:  Nah, not masculine enough.
Director’s cut:  Nah, no lipstick on the collar and the condom keychain hasn’t been used.
German version:  Ja, du hast recht.
Ham’s version:  Nah, not Jewish enough.
Chip’s version:  Sign him to a five picture deal!

Could AC/DC do for brown shirts what they did for schoolboy uniforms?

No, they are Australian and know first hand how socialism kills a country.  They would beat anyone in a brown shirt over the head with those big Foster's beer bottles.

But while we are on the topic of "Obamunism," I ran across this great old video on YouTube, which seems not only as relevant today as it was in 1948 when it was made, but actually prescient given the current political situation.

Quote:When anybody preaches disunity, tries to pit one of us against the other through class warfare, race hatred or religious intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom and destroy our very lives.  And we know what to do about it…

The original was "produced by the Extension Department of Harding College."  I had never heard of Harding College, but I was thinking they must have had a helluva great extension program to be producing cartoons, particularly those which (as in this case) were released theatrically by MGM.

Doing a little more research I ran across this:
Quote:Theatrical cartoons...were also made by John Sutherland Productions in Los Angeles for distribution by MGM.  The Sutherland films were sponsored by Harding College (now Harding University) in Searcy, Arkansas.   The conservative Christian school was founded in 1924, a few months after Warren G. Harding, the twenty-ninth president of the United States, died in office.
http://books.google.com/books?id=gIyH_DL...22&f=false

So the "production" contributed by Harding appears to be only in  the Hollywood meaning (i.e., writing a check) rather than the literal sense.  IMDB credits John Sutherland as producer (he must have picked up the check) and Joseph Barbera and William Hanna (yes, Hanna & Barbera) as directors.  And Harding College became RA in 1954, changed its name to Harding University in 1979.

You might also recognize the voice of Frank Nelson as the sleazy "ism" salesman in the cartoon. He was probably best known for his TV characters who when asked a question would turn around and say "yehhhhs??" in a condescending tone.

Produced by an unaccredited Christian college???  One that survived and thrived unaccredited for 30 years????  And people are still watching it, enjoying it and finding relevance in it 60 years later?????

What world was that?  Could there ever have been that much freedom in the US?

Quckly, all anti-Christian bigots--call the Fermilab and have them set the time machine for 1948.  Send George "The Sphincternator" Gollin back in time so he can stop John Sutherland from producing this pro-American, pro-freedom propaganda.

We can't risk further confusing people with all these complicated notions of liberty, it's just not part of the Dear Leader's plan.

I have my own little montage...
FREEDOM OF SPEECH
Images of 'patriotic' law being passed, of communication being monitored and of hate crime trials.

FREEDOM TO WORK AT THE JOB YOU LIKE
Images of the last stock market crash that costed like TWO WWII, inflation-adjusted and YOU paid for it.

FREEDOM TO OWN PROPERTY
Images of people leaving their home at night because the last stock market crash left them high and dry...

SECURITY FROM UNLAWFUL SEARCH OR SEIZURES
Images of Wacko.

THE RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL
Images of Guantanamo.

PROTECTION AGAINST CRUEL PUNISHMENT AND EXCESSIVE FINES
Images of speed traps and 30km/h speed limits  and of IRS task forces kicking in Barney's home in Mexico.

Propaganda...makes me feel sick.

And to balance all those nasty images of bad Nazis, why not a few clips of German cities under incendiary attack? Or perhaps precious little Indochinese children deep fried with Napalm? Or perhaps of Iraqi children dying because of the embargo?

No, I am just kidding...The U.N report about that many Iraqi children dying and Albright's televised admissions aren't worth considering. Although the U.N is the leftover code name for the band of plunderers...ops...liberators that included the USSR and the USA during WWII, the new party line is that the U.N are infiltrated and run by terrorist states such as...damn, I lost this week's list...

Did Biden actually help George Doublejew pass repressive 'patriotic' laws, or was it a special broadcast for my time dimension only?
