I said University of Phonenix is an unwonderful accredited school ( which I'd never choose ) several times,
however, I agree with the likely explanation someone else gave of the 'Mormon X factor'...
It was argued that 'Mormons just do it better' because they're on average motivated, extensively trained to spin yarns and to fend off objections to win souls for their savior...it's part of their upbringing.
Applying those skills to a religious crusade or to convincing African single mother of three that it's in her BEST interest to join UoP it's an easy thing...

According to specialized news (not that I can claim to know them personally), prominent entertaining/wrestling icons of the 1980s such as 'the doctor of style' Slick, 'million dollars man' Ted Dibiase, Tully Blanchard and others have become successful religious preachers...
From 'wrestling angles' and pay-per-view feuds to winning souls for the savior...the unwashed can keep dreaming...

A. If for-profit schools are banned, ahhh ..., I mean regulated out of business in the next four or so years, it will be due to the excesses of terrible for-profit schools starting with UoP. These assholes are far and away the worst - there is a huge gap between them and the rest of the list (Argosy, DeVry, et al.). I can't stand UoP and the poor quality education they sell. I didn't even know about the Mormon connection (not that there's anything wrong with being a Mormon ...) but, of course, am not suprised.

I don't know what all the fuss is about...
If Mormons possess better skills or ethics for the job, let's them do it...
If they didn't a good job, they wouldn't probably be so popular.
