I thought Georgia chose its own government. Ditto the Baltics and Ukraine. Russia knows it has nothing to fear from the west. Putin, although a major asshole, isn't going to light up the nukes because it is a no win game. Doing nothing entails no loss, doing something involves total loss. It's too high a price for simple posturing.
that is untrue to say, much like it was untrue to say that decades ago Europe chose its own governments. Did you know that the Japanese constitution came right out of MacArthur's office?
Yet the official press release sees MacArthur congratulating the then Japanese occupational government for its wisdom.
How comes -you might say- that Emperor Hirohito was allowed to stay?
Well, Macarthur wanted him to stay and a huge disinformation campaign took place on both Japanese and American end to clear him of most wrongdoing and bill him as innocent sock puppet, with entire responsibility shifted onto people like Toho.
Why?
Some say the USA wanted to 'thank' Hirohito for not pushing the war to the last man; others say USA didn't want to provoke the nationalists, but propositions of abdication were put forward, then mysteriously edited and never mentioned again.
Maybe you didn't follow the Ukraine affair on international press (not just western press), but it was clear as hell that two parties were locking horns: the russian party Kuchma had until then led, and the american party.
It ended being a matter of the highest bidder.
As I told you, Kuchma was grappling with Jewish big guys and had threatened to revoke Ukraine passports to Israeli citizens.
A few of those Jewish big guys were suddenly reborn as fond of 'democracy' and financing the 'orange' party that -as analysis showed-
sprung into existence with a wealth of paraphernalia and secret handshakes since day one.
Plus people were paid and catered to to attend rallies: who was funding that 'spontaneous outburst of democratic faith from the Ukrainian (broke) layman'?
A composite opposition party whose leaders started fighting for the biggest slice of the cake as soon as in power?
If i had enough billions, you bet you could have had Ham's party, too.
and Georgia?
Are you saying Shevarnadze wasn't the good guy the west praised and hailed as he helped dismantle the cold war as foreign affair minister of the USSR?
Why then just a few years later he was evicted out of office among allegations of wrongdoing like the next Saddam Hussein?
What a short memory the west has...
Democracy?
I could make you faint with quotes from US Presidents and analysts extolling the virtues of real dictators like Musharraf and Mobutu and Saddam (oh, sure before they "realized who he truly was"

).
Pakistan once had a liberal government and a prime minister with tits (Benazir Bhutto), which according to Hulk Hogan's standards was the best thing one might have.
Well, did you see a nuclear war when a military dictatorship ended that regime?
Under the soviet-funded Najibullah regime in Afghanistan, women could wear dresses and go to school...the USA said it was an evil regime and junk western media depicted the Talibans as freedom fighters...watch James Bond's "the living daylights".
Later war had to be waged because the Talibans were nutcases who enslaved women and forbade barber's shops...
It is not about being pro-american...it is about not changing one's mind every drink one gets, like a wh.re does.
