"TEKMAN," who claims a PhD from Capella, posted this in response to Jack Tranny's original post about a projected abundance of future RN jobs:
TEKMAN Wrote:I recently attempted suicide; when I was in the Hospital. I did not see many RN, which was totally different than what you had said. I thought health care field is high in demand after information technology .
PhD, Info Technology, Capella University (Inactive)
MP, Technology Management, Georgetown University
MS, Telecommunications, Southern Methodist University
BS, Computer Science, Troy University http://www.degreeinfo.com/general-distan...020-a.html
I suppose most readers simply were trying to figure out whether he meant he attempted suicide in the hospital, or he didn't see many RNs in the hospital. Not exactly PhD level communication, even by the minimal standards of Capella.
The rather offhand reference to a suicide attempt didn't seem to elicit much sympathy, or response of any kind for that matter. The next poster, "rook901" seems a little annoyed by the off-topic aside:
rook901 Wrote:I'm not sure what your suicide attempt has to do with the nursing shortage. Or what it has to do with anything, for that matter.
Eventually moderator Randell1234 inquires, perhaps because he wants to keep gay boy porn peddler Chip from getting sued if the guy tries again:
Randell1234 Wrote:What's up with this? You okay?
So far no other posts. Just your typical unstable DI mental case poster. Don't get blood on the carpet. Next.

This just gets funnier and funnier. First the mental case TEKMAN attempts to 'splain himself:
TEKMAN Wrote:Thanks for asking, just about my marriage problems. I just completed only 284 pills, and was about to complete up to 1,000 pills; but they stopped me and rushed me the hospital. After 10 days at the ER, ICU, and recovery; I have thought about it. I am back to normal, but I still have to face the consequences of marriage problems again.
Now the real levity. The Northcentral PhD Randell1234 offers the wise counsel that only a Northcentral PhD can provide:
Randell1234 Wrote:Listen, there is never something so bad that you have to take that route. Life is full of huddles and you need to knock them down, not the other way around. I have been married for 21 years and have had our share of issues, things happen that seem so difficult that they are not worth dealing with anymore. Things seem to spiral out of control but you know what - they get better and it is a cycle of life...a life that is meant to be lived. Please get the help you need to get on track.
I suppose he meant "hurdles" and not "huddles," but you never know. And if he meant "hurdles," aren't you supposed to jump over the hurdles, not knock them down?
Seriously, this am a conversation between to PhD's? Is they skipped grammar in skool?
Where's Jack Tranny in all this? Isn't he supposed to be a licensed psychologist or something? People are "completing" pharmaceuticals at an alarming rate and he is sitting on his hands? Admittedly he would have his work cut out if he were held responsible for all the nutjobs at DI.
Reaching your goals in life can be just as important as knocking over the huddles. When you are only "completing" 28.4% you need some help. Maybe Chip can get TEKMAN a deal on enemas next time so he can work both ends at once and "complete" more pills.

Never having taken a psychology course in my life but having known enough nutcases, addicts, etc., I feel qualified to comment. People try to kill themselves because nobody gives a shit about their lives and they think they can get attention. When they have to go to strangers on a forum to get that attention, what does that say about their lives? A confirmation, I guess. Just ban the jackass and send him on his way. Tell him to say hello to Janko for me.

Tekman is Henry Gorman. Not that anyone cares, but if he snuffs himself at least they can attach a name to what's left of his body.
