Agree. Learning a second (or third or fourth) language is a good thing. Not learning the language (and laws, customs, traditions and history) of one's newly adopted (without permission) country is not.

America loved Desi Arnaz. But Desi Arnaz did not demand that all the Little Rickies be educated in a foreign language. Desi was a success because he was judged on his substantial talent, not because condescending leftists believed he was inherently incapable of excellence and needed an affirmative action discount at public expense.

You mean like that complete fraud and eminent asshole uncle Janko and his circus of pig languages? That's the epitome of degreeinfo/degreediscussion "expertise"...it's the kind of phonies you ridicule by having them sit next to a real expert.

Wasn't it just the second anniversary of uncle Jerko's permanent departure?

Actually I was thinking of the brilliant polyglot performances by Austrian actor Christoph Waltz and German actress Diane Kruger. Each spoke four languages in the film, and in real life each is said to be fluent in English, French and German.
But now that you mention it, I do see the similarities between the Nazi asshole pig Hans Landa character and the Nazi asshole pig Janko. I wonder if he had a do-over if Janko would take a swastika carved into his forehead over his moonlight drive?

Map: Where Americans Are Moving
Click on any county in California and see where they are moving. Red lines mean they are leaving town. Compare destinations against map of
right to work states.

Gad, I clicked on "Detroit" and it looked like somebody had stabbed America in the heart, with a gusher of bloody red lines splashing all over everywhere. A very sad metaphor for what has happened to the country.

Collective bargaining on a broad scale is more similar to an antitrust violation than to a civil liberty
...There is evidence that right-to-work laws--or, more broadly, the pro-business policies offered by right-to-work states--matter for economic growth. In research published in 2000, economist Thomas Holmes of the University of Minnesota compared counties close to the border between states with and without right-to-work laws (thereby holding constant an array of factors related to geography and climate). He found that the cumulative growth of employment in manufacturing (the traditional area of union strength prior to the rise of public-employee unions) in the right-to-work states was 26 percentage points greater than that in the non-right-to-work states. ...
